You're studying Nihongo in school? I'm studying in school as well, although I should be studying it more. Hell I live in Japan, least for another 4 months, should have started right when I got here. It's a tough language to learn, but well worth it in my opinion. Japanese women are the hottest. :)

Because they are generally hoes. Maybe it's not a bad in mainland, but in Okinawa there are about 5 English speaking girls for every 100 horny marines. You do the math.

About a year for everyday conversation. About another 2 years until I could write freely. I'm studying business now at a Japanese university.

Mainland is pretty different overall. Girl I'm dating now has been with 2 other Americans, but in the area she lives in isn't near any military bases. Depends where you go though. Mainland Japan is obviously bigger than Okinawa, so there's plenty of places to go to find plenty of Japanese women who haven't even seen an American. I know when I was down through some parts of Tokyo I got plenty of looks, even one Japanese guy was thrilled to see me walking through a train station in Shinjuku. I'll agree though, stay away from Japanese women within 10 miles of any military base, even more so if the base is pretty huge.

Pretty much, I'd feel like a tool if I played the "English speaker" card to try to get a woman. Have you heard of the "Charisma man" phenomenon?

I lol'd. Yeah I hate trying to speak to Japanese people in English, but I try, the little I do know. They seem to appreciate it, and I hate it when Americans go in somewhere and rudely ask for things, in English. Nihonjin ga kekkon****ai.

Where do you get the "V" from? The second to last Katakana is "bi".

You mean 日本人と結婚したい。 If you say "ga" then it's like saying "The Japanese (person) wants to marry.

I also get really annoyed when I see Americans getting angry when Japanese restaurants can't take their orders in English. If a Japanese person came to the states, went into a restaurant and started barking Japanese at the waiter, he'd be like... "wat? gtfo chinaman"

Where do you get the "V" from? The second to last Katakana is "bi".

There was no "v" originally in Japanese. You should know that by now. They all become "b"

However in the recent years they have added it in as ヴィ although it is not used that often. Most things remain as b

Thanks, yeah I'm still learning the particles. As far as the V goes, I know there's originally no V in there, that's why I said that. I have a list of the "new" added katakana that I have to look over. Oh I agree about the Americans, I try to stay away from Americans when I'm off duty, the few tend to make us look bad. Take my final for Japanese level 2 this Thursday, should be learning a lot more, but I've been concentrating on studying other things. "O-namae" is more honorific is it not? Our instructor was telling us a little about it, and how it's mostly women that use "o" in front of words that way. Anyways, recommend any place or books I can further learn Nihongo from? I leave Japan in August, but I plan on coming back, and I can't take any more advanced Japanese classes on base so I need to find alternate ways of getting further. Thoughts?
