weight 156

feeling good

4 mile run this morning

ate a banana pwo

then went to resistance train

5x5 workout, but no circuit this time. i concentrated on weight and quality of contraction seeing as this is my last strength day.

db bench: 80lb db's x5
lat pull: 150x5
squat: 225,235,245,255,265 felt great with my back
shrugs: 275x5
db military: 50x3 55x2 (i can go higher but i need a spot and i didnt have one)

breakfast: 1 green apple
1 vegan burger
1/2 cup carrots

off to work. unfortunately i am fearing that work will interfere with my last week of technique. but i will just have to nut up when it comes time to compete. hopefully i can score some technique on at least 3 days this week.

but this is my first tourney so it will be a learning experience.

i got screwed on my first match on an anti wrestler bias

i absolutely dominated the guy but lost 2-0?????

we start off and shake hands (the guy was cool and thought i should have won) and i get in my wrestler stance and poke in the head a few times to gauge distance. he shots and grabs a single i whizzer and under hook him and trip him, but he pulls guard at the same time (in the rule books it was "if you initiate the take down you get the points even if he pulls guard") and the ref does not give me point. i land in half guard and try to pass but he immediately get full guard. i am a tricky son of a bitch so i start to work a sloppy americana to try and get an arm bar attempt out of him (his coach is talking mad **** and being a douche so i cant hear my corner). I get the arm bar attempt out of him and i shuck it off and pass to side control for a split second and he pushes off and get full guard. This happens 3-4 more times and then i finally get to half guard and move all my weight to his leg and attempt a pass but he shucks around to my back except i still have and under hook so he is on my side with both hooks in some how for less than 1 second and i throw him back into full guard. he get a body lock and push my elbow to his throat ad make him let go. he attempts a triangle with a high guard and i power clean him over my head and in mid air toss him like a rag doll to the turtle postion and get his back but he rolls to half guard very quickly and i get no points (wtf???) the match end in a wild scramble with me dictating wherever i want him to move. The entire match this guy did not to anything i did not want him to do. I controlled him 100% and he never threatened me with anything i did not trick him into throwing. it looked like herring vs lesnar with the amount of control i displayed in the match. This guy was a fav to win the division (one of pedro sauers blue belts evidently) and i tooled him with control, but the ref said he threatend with an arm bar in the split second he had hooks.

my ****ing ass he did!!!!!!!!! mojo horne, gurgel, and several coaches including the guy a competed against said should have won. total b.s. I am ready to get into the cage and smash someone!. in an MMA fight i would have busted that mother ****ers face in.

i am so pissed right now. I got from the comp (ky) to my house in ohio in like....15 minutes (95 mph) our other guy in my division got screwed too. he got caught in a darce but shucke it off into side control and got no points for it and lost by 2 as well. I am going to start back up monday and train like a ****ing animal.

you are 5'11, you are probably already pretty lean. which would make it hard for your frame to get down to 145

I placed 2nd in the tournament

i won my first match by kneebar

i lost my second my darce

my first match lasted 9 minutes

and my last lasted 19

and the 19 minutes was not BJJ it was a straight wrestling match the whole time.

i should have vids in the next couple days. Neither of these guys were slouches either. the division was stacked

It's doable. You just gotta get lean like me, son.

I felt like I could have cut water to 135.

GJ on your jits win.

How'd you get the kneebar?
