Hey guys....I've been getting pain in my upper back and shoulder blade area the day after I squat. I'm not sure why I get this....maybe my back isn't strong enough for the weight I am squatting. I got 405 up once....which I am psyched about!!!! But the next day my back hurt....it has happened a lot lately now that I am lifting heavier and more serious. Anyone else ever experience this???and any solutions???

video of squat would help amazingly.. but where do you place the bar on you back? how do you line your back up when squatting? basically your technique could cause this

This.
Lots of problems in the upper back/arms here on squats tend to be improper technique...

i use a pad b/c i have a bumb shoulder but maybe i should just use a towel. I try to have the bar on my blades....not my shoulders. As far as keeping my back at a good angle....I am pretty sure that it is fine...I have other guys spotting me watching my technique. And I worked out with Army's powerlifting coach for baseball. It might be messed up but from what you guys have said...I think its the pad. I should just use a towel so I can get the bar in a better spot. I didn't notice it until I had more weight on the bar to lift. Let me know what ya think.

Have someone watch your squat technique. It may be just where you place the bar. Congrats on 410, but if you correct the posture and bar placement 430 is probably your next lift! Try a bar bad and see if that helps.
