fridays 5x5, i forgot to film the set of 3 so i filmed the last set of 8 but did 9 instead.

77.5kg 171lb, 9 reps easy. i think the last 2 reps seems to be good form.

any criticism or advice is appreciated.

first thing i noticed was your elbows, they're waaaay too far behind the bar. you need to try and get your elbows under the bar as best you can. also, you're using wider stance so there should be little to no knee travel at all, but yours are going to your toes. work on sitting back more, pushing your knees to the side more, elbows under the bar, then your form will be at least decent

this...
you're also looking up, which isn't necessarily what you want to be doing.. you want to drive your head back into the bar still, but without looking straight up..

For head position try flipping a ball cap around and drive the bill into your traps.

I might be crazy because your form is pretty good (other than the stuff mentioned above) but it looks like your bar position is high. It looks (it could be the camera angle, idk) that the bar is up on your traps. If that is the case try lowering the bar on to your rear delts. Your doing pl style squats, so a lower bar position would be better.

Basically what everyone above me said, lower your head some more, sit back, and get the elbows under the bar.

I agree with 19George.

Are you planning to compete in Powerlifting, or are you just asking advice from Powerlifters? I'm curious.

You are doing 8 reps at a quick pace, without really setting each rep up. That gives more of an impression of a Bodybuilding-style approach to the Squat in my mind.

Try setting each rep up. Take a deep breath before you initiate the lift, and try to put the pieces of the "form-puzzle" together in your mind as you go through the lift.

Have you ever tried to Box Squat? This might help you to sit back further into the hole. Just an idea.

Good depth. Your form is not bad. Keep up the good work.

its a possibility but i dont think ill be competing in powerlifting any time soon, maybe when im in my 20s. Im Just asking for powerlifting advice, but i dont want to have my stance as wide as a powerlifter just yet.

On heavier weights i go slower, but from now on ill make sure ill go slower on every set and concentrate on getting the form right.

Ive never box squatted before. Im doing bill starrs 5x5, box squat can help me sit back but i dunno how i should add them without wrecking the program.

thanks for the advice.

thanks for the advice.

You're welcome.

I'm a Powerlifter with a narrow Squat stance.
