I posted this in the Keto forum as well, but would like to hear opinions here as well:
At least when I was in keto a few months back, and I'd guess this is true for many/most people, I found it very easy to say no to junk foods, especially sugary sweets (I'm usually a sucker for baked goods). I was often presented with free sweets, but was never really tempted to indulge.
However, on any other random day not in keto, I'd have more difficulty and be much more tempted to have sweets when trying to avoid them... noticeably more. It is obviously not just a difference in willpower, or that I was satisfied with my diet... I was just not tempted to eat sweets, and even sometimes looked down on sweets as utter trash and a burden to people who actually ate them. Point I am trying to make is that I had a totally different attitude towards sweets and junk in ketosis than I do now, currently running on carbs for the past few months. They are much more tempting to me and I don't look down on them, and have a much greater chance of indulging, when I am trying to avoid them.
I was wondering if anyone knows what this is, (it seems like a definite change to my brain) if this is even documented, or if this might be unresearched/unfound so far?
