2 inches? And it is soft,when you grip it hard,won't the implement be compressed and hence the diameter become smaller?

It reminds me of pvc insulation (you know, those sleeve/tubes of foam). Probably would help grip a bit I'd imagine. Even when it collapses it'd have some added diameter to the grip. But...I don't think I'd buy it.

it doesn't squish when you squeeze it, they're pretty hard

From memory its 2 inches on the pointer finger end - 2.5 on the pinky end
