So yesterday i was doing my high intensity cardio, which for me consists of warming up on a stationary bike or elliptical then i head into the gymnasium and do baseline to baseline sprints. And everything felt fine i warmed up thoroughly and everything. Then later that day i noticed my right knee hurt in a certain position. I tried misc movements to see exactly where it hurt. I notice it the most when i sit in a chair and act like im doing leg extensions but with no weight, about 3/4 the way up it hurts very badly, then i lock out completely and there is no pain, but that few inches from 3/4 to 4/4 hurts pretty bad. And i notice even walking around it doesnt hurt nearly as bad as when i imitate leg extensions but there is definitely discomfort. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I do squats deads leg curl leg ext lunges.... my knees are fine on leg day, but consistently ive noticed after sprints or running on the treadmill my knees tend to hurt or i guess you could say they are sore. I'm thinking it has to do with the clash on my joints every time my foot hits the ground on a sprint or on a treadmill. Ive been taking glucosamine for about a year now, ill be 19 in june so i wouldnt think my joints would be giving out this early! I just take the glucosamine for general joint health. I used to do squats wrong by keeping my weight a little bit too much on my toes instead of driving with my heels. But again ive perfected form on all leg exercises and it only hurts on cardio days.... ANY HELP PLEASE!!! i love doing my high intensity cardio!

I have incredible knee pain at times, ranging from a dull aching pain to a strange twisting sensation on impacts. Go and see a specialist as from my experience with a doctor they just told me it was nothing and to go away and rest. 10 years on and its still there so im pretty jaded on using the local GP.

I don't know if this is a UK GP problem mate, but WHATEVER you go to the docs with in the UK, you are told fcuk off and rest. Unless they can write a 10 second prescription that is.
You have no idea how many people I have heard of that on presenting symptoms of a serious illnesses are told to go away, rest and stop worrying, only for the illness to obviously become worse. Some lost their lives.
Its a national disgrace. All they want to do is get through their list of paients as quickly as possible whilst using minimal effort/ brainpower.
I don't bother with Gps anymore. Incompetent morons.

Well if its any consolation, I doubt a private doctor would have seen you either.
I have tried to go private with my knee problems, and they would'nt see me because they want everything to go through the NHS GP system. Unbelievable.
No wonder that people in the UK have poorer survival rates across all illnesses than many former Soviet bloc countries in the E.U!
Sorry to hi-jack this thread. Rant over.

i should also mention that i haven't done high intensity cardio in months, or cardio on hard surfaces at all for that matter, i typically use the elliptical so maybe my joints just arent used to it?
