so i throw shot put and discus and i was sort of wondering about in season training especially because we have like 15-20 meets in 2-2 1/2 months and i want to perform at my best in each of those meets but i was wondering could i do 1-2 muscle groups around 3 days before thos meets and will my muscles be fully recovered even if im a little tired, if anyone can give me a possible in season training split i would be appreciative thanks

You can definitely work out three days ahead of time. If your new to working out, I recommend not doing it because usually newbies are sore for days after working out since your muscles are not used to it.
I ran track in high school and I never had a problem working out in that kind of time period.

For future reference, you can lift up to 2 days before a meet if its not THATT important, but before championships meets, a full taper should have been done to ensure maximum strength peak.
You can do 10-15 med ball throws as well after lifting.

You can totally lift 3 days before a meet. I lift 4 days a week in-season and it doesn't hinder my performance. Our track coach just works with the Strength and Conditioning coach and they decide on what days we can lift. Most people's problem is that they don't lift enough during the season.

we train right on through the meets at our school
i lift during school then throw in a meet that after noon
we lift the day b4 very frequently
and if its a home meet or at a couple of schools we are cool with we even liften right after we throw ina meet
