On the internet I've seen FreeMotion adjustable dumbbells. From the pictures they look a lot like the Epic (ProForm) dumbbells that are sold with a bench at Costco. I was under the impression that ProForm equipment is crap, but Freemotion is high end commercial. Does FreeMotion actually make these dumbbells, or is this just a case of them licensing their name to an inferior product. Any body with experience with these? Opinions?

You didn't provide a link? 50 lashes.
Are these the dumbbells you are talking about?

If yes, I say don't bother with them because they have what appears to be cheap plastic parts on them. Cheap plastic parts break. Cheap plastic parts have no place on a dumbbell.

Yes, those are the ones (my bad on the link). I was afraid they were probably crap. I'm surprised freemotion would put their name on them. I assume the only good options are the Powerblocks and the Ironmasters.
Thanks

icon fitness sells the free motion brand so most products will be identical to proform or nordictrac. My proform treadmill deck broke today. icon stuff is crap

I had a set of those they are bulky and will probably break if you drop them. I think I had the Weider ones but there is not difference.

i'd agree, ironmaster or powerblock would be the way to go. around the same price and probably better quality (though i haven't seen the freemotion or any other icon brand dumbbells).
