Hey, I'm sort of new to bodybuilding and I haven't competed yet, but I would like to do a late show this year sometime.
Where exactly do I start? there's IFBB which is pro, and NPC which isn't as far as I know...is there anything below that? Do I have to qualify to compete in the NPC? If I do, then what shows do I look for in order to qualify?
This is all rather confusing to me.

The NPC does is the amateur division of the IFBB, there is nothing below that just other orginizations like the OCB, INBF, FAMe and so on. You can check the NPC or INBF websites for schedules of show for this year. You should be able to find something close to you. You don't have to qualify per say, but some orginizations like the INBF are drug free and you have to be for 7 years. Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else.

NPC regional and state level show are open to anyone who pays their NPC membership fee and entry fee. If the regional show you compete in is considered a National Qualifier, then winning the overall (or in some cases your class) may qualify you to compete at the National NPC level. Winner of National shows earn IFBB Pro cards.

You can do it at NPC's website, but in most cases all you have to do is pay your dues and fill out the registration at the show when you check in. Most of them if not all allow you to buy your membership that day.
