His BJJ just isnt what it used to be from what Ive heard recently. Look to see a 2nd round submission by Thales. That guy is unbelievable. BJJ counters striking every time. Silva hasnt had to fight a determined BJJ fighter with good TDs yet (minus Hendo who decided to stand and is only a wrestler).
Silva HAS horrible wrestling so it wont be a problem for Leites to take him to the ground.

His "BJJ just isn't what it used to be?"
Since when do people knowledgeable in BJJ--especially pro fighters--go BACKWARDS in their ability and technical knowledge????

Ever heard of "use it or lose it"? When is the last time you saw him using BJJ in a fight?
Training doesnt count, its not the same when everyone is watching and your under the lights. You wouldnt understand if you havnt fought before.
Two BJJ legends are helping Silva prepare for this fight, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (ADCC 2005 88-kg champion and multiple-time world BJJ champion in his weight class and the absolute class) and Andr? Galv?o (current world BJJ Champion and ADCC 2007 third-place finisher at 77 kilograms and the absolute class).

Say what you want this is Silvas weakness. That and a good wrestler with sub defence who actually wants to take him down.
Leites
Paul Harres
Maia
All of these guys could snap silvas twig limbs.

They could in a BJJ match, but this is MMA.
Not saying it couldn't happen, but I think Silva will be very prepared for this fight.

When you were a kid did you learn to swim?, do you need to re-learn everytime you go to the pool......no.
Training is everything, and fighters usually have a game plan. If they choose to fight a certain way then that does not mean that they forgot everything else they learned.
I've seen some crap on this forum, but that post is right up there.

Leites by whatever submission he wants. The guys toolbox of submissions is just jam packed. I couldnt tell you but I predict a tap or a snap of some sort.

lol at Paul Harres. His name is Rousimar Palhares
I think Anderson will do everything in his power not to allow it to go to the ground. If it does, he will be prepared. He is a very smart fighter. I feel that is why he is so good. He is smart, doesn't fall into other fighters traps, and keeps the fight were he is in control.

Are you telling me Silva is as good as Horn on the ground? I stopped takin you serious right there. Horn is a crafty wizard when it comes to survival, how many times have you seen him finished.
Unbelievable just cause of the way he looks you think hes bad?
They cal him gumby for a reason, because his limbs bend weird out of submissions.

lets turn this troll job into an actual discussion!!!
lets actually analyze silvas weaknesses and how thales may be able to exploit them...
silvas may not have the best defensive bjj (that we have seen) but he does have a good offensive bjj game...
silvas only glaring weaknes might be his wrestling... can thales actually exploit that though?? and i though silva has been working his greco with some good guys (anyone remember who)??

Silva stuffed Hendo several times in their fight, and reversed Marquardt beautifully. His wrestling has improved.
The only way Leites can win is if he gets Silva in the dreaded BEARHUG~

His game is is constiantly evolving.....His BJJ isnt what it used to be?? Hahaha jesus. That right there screams how retarded you are.
Not to mention the fact Silva is in Rio De Je Janeiro training with Ronaldo Souza and Galvao, some of the best Jui jitsu in the world. Maaaaan you cats need not to post and just read.
Dip **** thread, Silva will walk through him.......

In addition to the lol worthy pics above, Leites always stands at the start of the fight when he should know better. McFedries clipped him with an ugly punch about two seconds into their fight. What is Silva going to do to him?

And lol at anyone who thinks Anderson Silva is going to come into this fight in a nice, calm manner. I feel bad for Thiago Leites.

Silva turned his back on his BJJ roots and I hope Leites makes him pay dearly for it. This is almost as bad as when Royce left the Gracie way to train for Hughes and look what happened to him.
Oh yea and speaking of Gracies add that to the list of guys who would snap silva
Rickson Gracie
Paul Harres
Maia

Haha, pretty sure a big reason for Royce's loss against Hughes was age.
Funny, hopefully this thread is still around when Leites gets knocked out in the 1st
Silva's wrestling isn't even that bad.

i love how an olympic wrestler takes you down and all the sudden your wrestling is weak LOL
In order to take Silva down that means he will have to respect Leites stand up enough to allow him to shoot effectively.
Silva will not respect his stand up. This will end by vicious KO

And clearly, you are an expert in the field. Muscle memory (from training) and instinctual reactions (from training) won't have any effect because he isn't using it in his fights that last NO LONGER THAN 25 MINUTES. Ignore the THOUSANDS OF HOURS SPENT TRAINING.
And lets not forget of course, you, yourself, are a trained and seasoned professional fighter, so you know exactly what you're talking about.

I see this ending with a vicious ko, in the 1st lol
Thales did survive the ass kicking marquardt put on him, if he can get it to the ground before getting ko'd,he might have a chance.
maybe,2-3%
Silva is pissed off after his last fight. He was getting booed. He isn't going to fight like mancheda again, he will try and finish the fight fast.
