They are very cool, not sure ivanko are the only people to do them. They've been around a very long time.
Great for people without a lot of room to get some leg isolation, not sure you could load enough on them to do a decent press although the extra unstability might make it a lot harder.

edit; just actually read the whole link and those ones aren't made by ivanko, did ivanko invent them?

Yes, they are real and that is gonna be one of my next purchases ,they really make up for not having a leg press in your power rack.

I haven't looked at the Atomic site in a while, but they've got interesting things. As to iron boots, we didn't invent them. They've been around for a long time. We've got a pair of York in our gym. And a couple other vintage pairs. I don't know who first came out with them. I can find out if anyone around here knows and get back to you guys. I'll also take a pic of the York boots when I can. They're red (that great York red!) with leather straps. They don't have as much of a back quarter or covering up the ankle that ours do. For plate loading on the IB, we use a version of our fixed dumbbell handle (SDH) and a grade 8 bolt. I forget now how York did it. Ours come in two sizes: 5 and 7.5 lbs. The heavier one is longer. Lately, we've had older people call up and order them. They claim that their "doctor" recommended them. I don't know, maybe it's same doctor. The late great Vic Boff, former president of the Olde Time Strongman's Association, wrote a guide to using Iron Boots. I think I have a copy somewhere. Also there was a Bob Hoffman (York) publication I think.

I think my dad has a pair of those from ages ago. I remember messing with them when I was a kid.
