Currently I am training for my first BJJ tournament in March and my Second boxing bout in April.
I am 6 foot tall and weight in at 185 pounds and am 12% Bodyfat. I have to weight in at 174 pounds for my next fight in 8 weeks time. I fought at 168 pounds last time but I had no muscle on me and I lost heaps of muscle trying to make weight and had no energy for the fight.
I have been boxing for about 6 months on and off but have decided to get right into this year and I would like to have another 5 boxing matches this year. I took up BJJ in December late year and am loving it and as I want to get into the cage as its a nesseracy part of the game to be able to compete.

My training Schedula has been the same since the start of the year

Boxing I do 3 mornings a week dependant on when my trainer is free
Swim I do 2 mornings a week on opposite days from boxing to deload my body
Sparring Boxing on saturday mornings at 11am for 30 minutes
Weights on Tuesday and Thursday Afternoon I take off from work for a couple hours
BJJ Class on Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm for two hours and Saturday 3pm
Fitness Training MMA style hardcore 1on1 Monday and Wednesday at 7pm
Some Saturdays I also do no Gi wrestling depending on my trainer
Sunday I rest up for the week ahead.

My diet varies.
I dont eat any Wheat/Bread/Pasta
I have a protein shake with LSA and Glutamine after every work out
Breakfast is normally a protein shake with LSA and a Bannana and a rice thin with natural PB on it
When trying to lose weight I eat every three hours including breakfast a hand full of steam broccoli and boiled chicken with a tablespoon of LSA oil (I have found this method very effective at dropping weight fast)

I wont be updating this all the time but I am keeping it for my own reccords to monitor my progress.
Will do another entry after my BJJ tourny and Boxing Match and any other things that I feel should be entered into here.

Cheers,

Texmo

Yeah 6 weeks is what I have been told to expect but that ok there are fights every month in my town so I will just register once I have healed up and hope that in 12 weeks I will be fight ready.
I have already spoken with my BJJ/MMA instructor and boxing coach and they are gonna get together and write me an exercise plan. A broken foot is no reason not to train. I am gonna gonna make sure my upper body gets super strong, its just a pain being on crutches...

I had my first BJJ tourney this weekend. I fought in the 83-88.3kg weight division. I lost my fight unfortunatly, I was taken down into side control from which i shripmed out of into north south with him on my back. I stood up and then did a double leg pick and took him down (I think I broke his rib with my shoulder when we hit the ground durning the take down) Then went for full mount but he got half gaurd and I couldnt get my foot free even though my knee was on the ground. Lost to points, Good experiance though.
I have another boxing match lined up but its in August so I want to find one before then if I can.

It has been a while since I posted here so I though it would be good to do an update.
I have now moved to Australia and am training in Melbourne with Pete De Been which is a great school for BJJ. I have only been here 3 months and am still looking for a good boxing coach in my area.
Malvern martial arts have a good judo and wrestling instructor so im gonna start that up in the new year once im all settled in.

Currently I am training
BJJ 4 maybe 5 times per week.
5x5 routine 1 time per week.
Kettlebells once per week.

As I have just settled into a new job my training isnt where I want it to be. But slow and steady wins the race. My BJJ has come a long way since I firt started.

im 86kgs and 9.7% bf
