I am 10 weeks out of my first contest. I am not as hardcore as many of you but have a lot of respect for this sport and have wanted for a few years to try a contest. It appears this will be the year. The contest is not the biggest one around and I will be entering the novice division of course. I have no expectations other than to give it my best shot and enjoy the experience. Anyways, my questions: I have tested at 10.5% body fat. Is 10 weeks enough time to reasonably get down to where I need to be? I was thinking about 5%, is that realistic or still too much? I am 5' 10" 177 lbs at the moment. Also, how accurate do the handheld body fat calculators tend to be? The trainer at my gym claims theirs is quite accurate. Thanks for any help.
