tomorrow I'm expecting 130kg squat (yes weak) and 135kg bench press (if I'm not sore/tired)

So I maxed out today on bench press and squat

+ I slept well
+ I was fresh

- Haven't ate well, only had one meal before it and food has huge effect on my performance
-did triceps and shoulders yesterday so they were tired as hell

SQUAT
Full ATG, no equipment


10 x bar
10 x 40kg
5 x 60kg
1 x 80kg
1 x 100kg
1 x 110kg
1 x 120kg ---> easy
1 x 130kg---> easy
1 x 140kg---> easy
0 x 150kg--->FAIL
I failed like a whore on last attempt, even though I lifted 140 with no problem at all.
I almost died LMFAO, **** was tight. I went up half way and couldn't lift, so I went back to full ATG squat and I was waiting for my spotter to lift it, but obviously my spotter couldn't handle the weight and it started sliding over my neck and I quickly threw it with my back on the floor.
I think I could handle 145kg but I'll leave it at 140 for now.
But srsly ****ing lol at my squat

BENCH PRESS
wasn't ready for this definately but still way below expectations

Glad you're okay and not hurt after that squatting incident. Maybe you should have more spotters next time...?

I'm the same with food and performance, I hate it when I can't get more than two meals in before I got to the gym. That's why I don't workout in the morning.

haven't squat parallel in about 3-4months, last time I squatted parallel it was 360lbs for 1 rep

It's my first time doing such type of training and it was very good. I'm back to old gym and I noticed that benching here is harder lawl (srs). Felt good on everything and had awesome pump in chest. oh and will post in POUNDS again since my gym is using imperial system.

On this leg press machine it's kinda hard to move, I think it needs to be oiled

yeah back to normal gym.


in this gym bench is actually not good as in that ****ty gym, the bench is just too narrow but NVM, no excuses for not hitting 3plates soon

It shouldn't be too bad, it's not like you're benching 3 times a week.

On the other hand, behind the neck presses... Ehh not a good idea IMO. Great way to get a rotator cuff injury. If you must, I'd say normal overhead press.

Damn I don't know how you can handle the dumbell between your legs. I did that and just couldn't handle it. Good thing new gym has a weight belt.

whoa, sickening dips for the first time. DB between feet is strange man, I cant do that, and I dont have a dipping belt in my gym too. I just use my gym bag and throw some 11lbs plates in haha

Keep the number of reps low, but sometimes it's better to do 3x2 or 4x2 instead of 3x3 - for example when you are using really heavy weight, like a 3-4RM, you might lose explosiveness after the 2nd rep. You really want your last rep to be about as explosive as your first one, throughout most of the sets. So even though you can do the weight for more reps, don't. Just do one more set, if you think you can do it.

5x5 gives most people gains because there's a lot of room for improvement; if you can do the weight for 5 sets of 5, you can always put 2.5-5lbs on and still do 5 sets of 4-5, and this is "progression", although not as fast as one would like it to be.

That doesn't sound right, 40lb difference is way too much IMO. Either you squat higher than you think or there are other factors.

Good workout. I'm thinking weather the squat workouts aren't a bit too light for you... Although if your max is really 140kg, they shouldn't be.

hmm, I think I don't take enough time to rest in between sets for squats and deadlifts.

Club was great I had a great time.

there was ****load of chicks but music was too loud so I couldn't really do anything
I drank red bull lol, I don't drink alcohol.

i play in a team wich is in 4th leagea here in Belgium.so its not bad..
