Today I was bored so I walked to my colleges Barnes and Noble and went to the Nutritional Book section. I saw this book on metabolic typing and started to read it for a bit. (I know i lead a boring and sad life lol). I dont quite understand the entire scope of it (i didnt actually read the entire book yet, but I did purchase it), but I was wondering what/if anyone has any comments or opinons on its actual validity/relevance for overall health and body composition.

Charles Poliquin is pretty big on it, but the only evidence I've seen supporting it is anecdotal. According to my blood type, Type O, I am not supposed to have dairy or a lot of eggs. I eat both and have no problems. My brother, also an O type, drinks milk like it's going out of style with no ill effects.

What are the criteria for each type?

Pure ****. I like Paul Chek for the most part, but the metabolic typing he and others endorse is just pseudoscience. Of course it's a good idea to avoid foods that cause problems, but for God's sake it sure isn't because you are a "Carb Type" or "Mixed Type" or "Protein Type". Give me a break.

I love that site. Funny thing is that a lot of the quacks on there actually revel in the fact they are listed on this site. It plays very well into their whole "it's a conspiracy man!" tactics.
