Ok, heres the facts. Ive never played high school football but I do have experience playing in one of the city football leagues. I want to be a wide receiver. Here is my stats:
Height: 6'1
Weight: 229
Dont know how much I can lift atm so I dont have anything on that.
I plan on going to a community college first for 2 years, (they dont have a football program) then graduate from there and go to a college of my choosing and try to walk onto the football team.
I would be 21 at the time though and I dont know if I would be too old because I would be 24-25 in my junior/senior year.
What do you guys think I should do? Need some guidance down the right path here.

Few Questions
1) What kind of school you plan on walking on to? What level, What Division???
2) Unless you have above average speed, you might want to think about switching to Tight End, granted your short for a Tight End, but a lot of Pass Catching Tight Ends are around 6'2 but their assets in the pass game get coaches past the height factor.
3) At 21 if you plan on playing D-1 you automatically start losing years of eligibility after 21 if you haven't played yet, also if you have been enrolled in a 4-Year School your eligibility would start ticking away.. If you have any questions about what your eligibility is shoot me a PM and I could probably figure it out for you.
4) Too Old? Nah I'm gonna be a 20 year old walk-on Freshman this fall too, granted my grades suffice for the school God willing.

1. Im not sure. Im going to a community college first which doesnt have football so im going to wait 2 years then go to a college of my choosing. Not sure yet on which college.
2. I dont really know what my speed is but I do need some improvement on that so I'll wait a little before I calculate that.
3. What do you mean lose years of eligibility? Is that a bad thing?

If you go to a CC full time you're gonna lose 2 years of eligibility if you end up going to a D1 school
And you could help us alot more if you knew your lifting/running stats lol
Why are you going to a CC first? you could just go to a d3 school and start playing

Im not yet ready to play in my opinion. I need to work on some things.
Is losing 2 years of eligibility bad for me and should I just consider the AFL?

Why not go play 2 years, get a degree, then play AFL?

AFL may not be around much longer, they are not going to be in play for the 2009 season, they are supposed to come back and have play in 2010, but the way the economy is and the fanbase for the AFL, that may not happen period.

D3football dot com.
Go play somewhere now if you love football. You would be surprised at how unprepared some walk ons are even at the D1 level. Get in a program, learn and work hard.
