when counting grams of carbs do you count total carbs or net carbs (total cards-fiber)?

for instance i ate 40 grams of carbs yesterday but 24 grams of it was fiber, so do i put that i ate 16 grams of carbs or 40?

if i do count it as 40 is it likely that i was knocked out of ketosis

From what I understand, you count net carbs.

Carbs - Fiber = Net carbs

As long as you keep net carbs limited to 20-30g a day you should be fine.

No, do not count fiber into your carb allotment for the day. Get as much fiber as you can. If I recall correctly, the U.S. is weird for having fiber counted in the total carb category of the nutrition panel. I believe in places like the UK, fiber is counted separately and is labeled as such.

Don't count fiber against any carbohydrate number you're trying to hit.
