Here is my deal guys, recently doing dead lifts on my last set I came up and had a weird "twist" like movement on my left side right under the rib cage, I decided to have it looked at because I thought I may have gotten a herina. Doctor said he does not think it is one, but told me to take week off from lifting and come back in one week, I am still have some pain on my left side directly under the rib cage area. If I did not get a hernia (which seems not to be the case) what in the hell did I do? any ideas or thoughts thankss...

That isn't where you get hernias.

More likely you strained a rib joint and have a referred pain.
