I wear a 1/4 in lift because of the same condition. I DL every week(I'm doing Madcows 5X5). I'm just carefull to leave "1 in the tank" after every set. IDK my back feels more messed up after carrying out the trash than after a heavy set of DL's.

Are you undergoing any rehab to try and straighten the scoliosis?
Have you been assessed for uneven leg length or twisted / uneven pelvis?

at 17 you may go to a doctor and check out if you can do something for it.. You may still have a year or more to fix it even if not 100%
I have quifosis or however its called and i went too late to the doc though its less noticeable now that im lifting weights since my back has growed..

Arguably the best deadlifter of all time had scoliosis.
Lamar Gant deadlifted 640lb at 123lb BW and 683 @ 132lb BW.
Oddly enough the bend in the spine he had got him closer to the bar!

now that is inspiring. if anything i would assume by this guy that deads helped with his back problem by strengthening his muscles(plus his midsection with which helps with back support). i would def have someone coach you the proper form before you start...and start very light till you have that form down
