Hello everyone I am going to start a journal. I will try to update as much as I can but it will focus more on my progress from month to month more than anything. I have been trying to lose weight, I was 230 in August 08', and now I am currently down to 194. I lost all those pounds without much exercise, and it could have possible been a lot of muscle, but who knows. now im going to start working out, so I will lose more weight probably. I am getting a gym membership on Thursday, so I will post my 1 rep maxes after I hit the gym for the first time. As for my goals..I don't really care if I have perfect abs, I just want to have a good physique with some big guns! I want it to look like I actually work out.

Ok well I went to the gym. I didn't deadlift but my starting maxes are bad lol.
Bench- 135
Squat- 195
Looking to lower my bodyfat more than anything though. I was around 30 bf% in August now im at 22%, and that was without much exercise. I am just now starting to exercise so lets see what I can do!

Just got back from the gym. I have the flu so it was pretty balls today. Apparently I can max out at 215 on dead lift. I don't know if it's good or not, but I felt good because it's a big number for me lol. Anyways, so my starting maxes are..
Bench 135
Squat 195( Not atg, only like 175 atg)
Deadlift 215 (bad form probably)

Had a pretty good workout today. I did bench 3x5 with 115 (i know weak), squat 3x5 with 225(didn't do atg), and did deadlift 1x5 155(very weak). This is only my 2nd week on Rippetoes so im not really mad about progress, but I can't wait til my lifts start to go up, feels so bad benching 115 lol.

Slowly adding to bench. Adding 5 lbs to it each week until I plateau. Overall, had a good workout today. My workout buddy didn't come today, so I guess he's not as determined as I am. Today I did bench 115 3x5, squat 175 3x6, and did deadlift 155 1x5. Only been working out for a couple weeks but when im squatting now it feels a lot easier and just feels a lot better on my neck.

Good luck with your goals brah
Thanks, man.
Today I did Bench, squat, and deadlift. Had a good workout, felt great.
I did 4x105 for 8 reps on bench. I did 3x10 for 10 reps on squat, and I did 1x5 of 160 deadlift. My first couple of workouts I was trying to find out my fitness level. I picked 3 starting weights for my lifts, and I am going to progress by 5 lbs on each lift for as long as I can.
Diet is iffy. I mean it's good, but it's not good for bulking. Im currently trying to cut my bodyfat percentage, but im lifting weights to try and build strength and preserve muscle, since im on a calorie deficit.
Can't wait to reach my goals. I know I will reach them though, because im going to be lifting for the rest of my life.

This was mondays workout and last fridays but im posting on tuesday cuz I got home too late..Sooo..
Last friday I did bench, squat, deadlift. Had a good workout. I could barely 225 for the deadlift, actually I couldnt lift it, and now I can do 5 reps of it so Im pretty happy about that. I tested my max bench, when I first started my max was 125, now it's 135, not sure if that's good progress but hey, it's progress. Squat I did 3 sets of 5, 175 lbs.
Mondays workout- squat, rows, military press
Squat did 3x5 180 lbs. Rows 3x5 95 lbs. And military press, 3x5 95 lbs.
It feels as if this workout works my muscles more, even though I prefer workout A. I always feel a nice pump after I do military presses. Anyways, that sums up the last two workouts.
