tempo and glute initiation.
it's personal, and goes away in the 90%+ area. I def stop doing it before meets. It becomes more subtle as the weight increases.
Give it a try. It's not loose. Things are tight.

awesome man, I tried doin front squats today and it was so uncomfortable, my neck was all smashed and my shoulders felt weird. but you said front squats have helped you out a lot.

there is a powerlifting gym down here. SSPT. It's owned by a husband and wife, who just so happen to be the USA Men's IPF World team's coach and the 114lb class female world's lifter.

i'm just finally trying to get this 500 out of the way. I think I could be capable of 525+ at my next meet. That's the idea anyway.

thanks for the encouragement. It's either the 11th of April or the 25th of the same month. It's my favorite meet of the year to either lift in or watch: hosted at Rockview State Pen. Badass environment, with quality USAPL judging.

Solid lifts... I sometimes do that little hip swing also to get glute activation. I feel like I sit back a little easier that way. Good luck at your meet!

enjoy watching your videos, seem to have good analytical mind set when it comes to your training. Squat opener looked good and you've definately got more in your bench, that pr exploded off your chest.

I notice a curve on your upper back in your last vid with deadlifts, the 6 1 vid. Do you do that in order to get the hips lower? Do you think it involves your legs more in the lift? Wasn't sure if this was something that could be dangerous for your back or not. Obviously you know... but I was just asking.

You're putting up some really good numbers, Dustin. Broke 600 on the deadlift! Nice increases over Raw Nationals on all 3. You are tough to catch up to.

This is true. I'm pretty sure flat shoes are my competition shoes for now. I still squat often with oly shoes with a front or high bar position. They are REALLY helped me bring up my standing/anterior leg strength

When I lifted in single ply, I squatted this wide (or a bit wider). It's always been stronger, but over the last 2 years, in an attempt to bring up my leg strength, I devoted myself to olympic squating. Now that I have switched back, I am reaping the benefits big time.

*I may have gotten a bit of a gift on that dl. My knees looked soft, and I got a red light for one of them.
great job man, but wheres the bench?
strong work overall, had to be around a 1400 total with the squat and deadlift being basically 1100 on their own.
