Hi guys,

Ok, im a little confused and would really appreciate some info on this.

I see and read all the time about people "bulking" to gain muscle. But I also see alot of them get fat or they dont lose any fat around the waste area.

I know this might sound dumb, so please be gentle. Is it not possible for me to lose the fat around my waste and love handles while putting muscle on at the same time. I mean what if I eat about 500 calories less than what I need to mantain weight, but work out and make sure I get my 1.5x protein everyday.

Would I not still be able to gain size without having to "bulk" up first, while at the same time im taking in 500 cal less than I need allowing me to lose some size around my waste?

I guess I am having a hard time believing that if you want to look good and grow and your just a little overweight. That you have to Bulk up get fat then cut back down. Is this two step process really that necessary.

If some could elaborate I would really appreciate it.

My problem is I want to look good for summer, So I want to obtian larger muscles but I REALLY want to lose fat around my wast to obtain a 6 pak. (or try in that time frame). What would you recomend I do.

Note: the pic I have is me flexing my stomach, It doesnt always look like that, I still have a "gut" if you will. =)

Again, thanks guys!!

It's possible moreso if you are a beginner but if you've been lifting a while it'll be pretty tough. Iy is possible to get stronger though. In my opinion people look a lot more bigger when they're cut up.

Look at wave length. He's like 150 and looks big.

Bulking is from a bodybuilder's mentality that non-BB'ers have picked up as the be all, end all way to get ripped.
