Some of you may have seen my other theard where i sold my 5150 head and mesa cab awhile ago and now i miss playing shows and wanna start another band. I dont have the money to buy a whole new rig like that and wouldnt have it for a long time. I'm not a big fan of combos(especially solid state) but this amp actually seems pretty cool. Do you think it would be loud enough to play shows with? I'd be running it through a cab. Let me if you've played it and what not.

EDIT- actually thing one intrigues me more.

so what do you think about both?
I'd stay away from Line 6 products at all costs.
Especially after going from a 5150/Mesa.
It'll sound and feel like absolute **** and you'll start hating both owning and playing it. The Vypyrs are getting a lot of good reviews but you'll still be missing the warmth and dynamics of that 5150.
I'd personally go with an entry level all-tube Peavey such as the ValveKing.

yeah the 5150 is probably my favorite amp ever lol. Well i wouldnt have enough money for a valveking half stack but the 100w tube comobo is like $630 so maybe.
How big do you think your gigs going to be?
I mean the 1x12/50 Watt ValveKing is PLENTY LOUD.
Oh and, 420 bucks. So that's a plus too.

lol idk how big. I mean the places around here are decent sized. And most of the places mic you too so that would be fine with 50w, but 50w for a band practice might not cut it.

you should look into fender all tube amps. you'd be surprised at how loud a 40 watt tube amp can be. my next amp will be the hot rod deluxe
