Whats the point of this... what does it help to accomplish?

Not trolling.. just genuinely interested.

i personally feel that the bands help mimic a squat suit very well and the high box is bc i am trying to overload my body some while i work on adapting to my wider squat form. I will try to increase the load again the next week and then i will drop the box height until i am at proper depth. Also the pads on top of the box are stiff foam that has some give to force you to explode off the box more.

my best comp squat to date is only 565 in a USAPl sanctioned meet but that was a while ago and my strength is far higher now. I am doin an APF meet at the end of Feb so i will get back to you then when i have a more recent comp squat.

I really dont have any idea about how much bands take off/put on, but I have read Dave Tate from elite fts say that it will always be different. It depends on the rack hightth, the width, just a ton goes into figuring out how much resistance the bands create. Great lift, and you seem supper strong for your age!

how much weight did it take on the bar to keep it in the racks without you touching it?

depending on how you jumped that's the tension of the bands +/- 10 lbs.

You can look here: http://www.elitefts.com/articles/article-faq/default.asp and it has (estimated) tensions listed, so that may give you a starting point.
