I'm currently on a bulk, and I usually take two peanut butter chocolate protein shakes a day (~600 cal each) + three meals + a before bed snack. The protein in the shakes is EAS Whey and my before bed protein is an EAS blend. I currently have two weight gainers, BSN True Mass and Muscle Juice. I bought the BSN to replace the Muscle Juice because of its high sugar content, but I can't stand the taste of BSN + milk alone so I usually go half and half. Either way, the only time I drink my weight gain shake is post workout. I do this because I want the calorie load of a weight gainer and only want to take in a heavy load of simple sugars after my workout. I don't agree with the idea of taking a weight gainer simply any time during the day to gain weight... that's what food is for.

Anyway, my concern is that the blend in my newly acquired BSN (and maybe in my MJ) is not whey-oriented enough and my muscles are not being delivered the protein they need immediately. However, the only time I want to drink a weight gainer is PWO. Do you suggest I take a quick 23g of EAS whey w/ my weight gainer, or do you think it has enough whey to fuel the muscles?

Thanks

There should be plenty of protein in the weight gainer. Even half a serving gives you 23 grams of protein. You could add in some oats for a bit more protein also plus the added carbs. If you are having a meal later on with protein in it don't be soo worried about your postWO shake.
