i have a black car and was wondering if anybody could recommend me a dark tint that i can put on my car windows? i've heard 20% is good but i want them to be dark enough that they make it hard to see almost anything from the outside, but not to the point where it's impossible to see out of at night, such as a limo tint

can anybody help me out?

**i don't care what the laws in my state are, i just wana hookup my car**

35% is sex.

35% on side windows, 5% limo on smaller side window

(you can see in at daytime from some angles with 35, at night you cant see in at all)

20% should do the trick.. You can't really see in at night.

20% back, 35% front. On a black car, especially with a dark interior, if you go any darker on the front, your a police beakon. And don't go darker than 20% unless you like backing into things in the driveway. 20%, people can only see shadows of who's inside, but can't make out details.

My Eclipse has 40% and it is pretty hard to see how of the back at night, but looks really good.

So I guess 35-40% would be perfect, if you are going for looks.

anything over 15% isn't that sexy IMO. 10% is awesome on a black car, it'll be like almost impossible to see out of at night but you said you dont care about anything but making it sexy.. i rocked 15% on my last gray car and it was sexy. rep me now. also dont do less on the back than you do on the front this is gauranteed failure and looks retarded 100% of the time. you can also get a super light tint that gradually fades all the way down the winshield as opposed to just one of those solid strips at the top that look stupid. now rep me and tint you **** the right way.

I had a black monte carlo with 20s that looked decent but my new car is white, 20's look amazing on it. The darker the car the darker the tints should be. Just make sure you do a good job with it, not some ghetto bubbly ****.

Get 10% on all the back windows, and 20% on the front windows.

I don't see why you wouldn't get 5% tint on the back, its not illegal.
I never have trouble backing up at night, if worst comes to worst, stick your head out of the window.
Or you can just look at where your parked before you get in your car to back up. If your a good enough driver, your never gonna hit anyone because you have tint on the back window... lol.

I would go with 5% on the back windows and 30% or 25% on the front sides (35% isn't dark enough IMO), with a strip on the top of your windshield.

I don't know about NY, but if front window tint is illegal, anything darker than 35 is pushing his luck up front. My budy made it about 4 months in chicago with 35 on the front.

I dont know, I think limo tint is for wanna be gansters, and usually looks like crap. A real dark shade is good though IMO. But whatever is good for you. I had limo for a while on my back windows, and hated it.

Ive had limo tint on my back window for a year now and I love it and it looks great.
Theres a rule around here for new drivers that you cant drive with more than 2 people in your car and must display a new driver sign, so I can just load up my back seat and drive around tinted right out.

I dont see how it would be for wanna be gangsters...
wanna be gangsters around here cant afford cars.

OK, correction. On your car, limo looks good. On old cadilacs, buicks, whatever **** cars with rims role around my neck of the woods, looks like crap. I think limo just screams drugs and alchohol and atracts bad attention from the police. And I hate backing up at night with the stuff.

30% all around. I hate it when I see super dark tint in back and too light on front.

10% on the two front ones and 5% on the 3 back ones look real clean, at least on my car it does

I put 15% all around on my G35. Would have gone 10% but 3M brand tint dont produce it (what my installer told me). 3M films (at least then) go from 5 skip 10 and then go to 15%

15% is dark enough and no visibility issues here. I even put tint on the front window. If you are going to go illegal, do it right I guess.

I got a doctors note (bribed) from South America so the one time I was stopped, I didnt get a ticket or a fix-it ticket.

20% FTW. Never had any problems with police, looks super sexy on my black truck, looked super sexy on my silver truck...its dark enough to add some appeal, and its still light enough to see through at night

Is there a visible difference when you get different darkness between front and back windows on the side?

Here's the car I have, been considering tinting since we just had 3 days in a row @ 104 degrees

20% is great. Its not the darkest so its a little less obvious when cops look and its dark enough for others to see through. You can also see through it at night.

Windshield 50% and down past the sun visor
5 % all the way around except front windows @ 20%
PERFECT

it all depends on how diffrent you get them cuz on my car 15% and 5% are not that diffrent but cops don't hassel you as much as oppose to getting 5% all around, but yeah I still get pulled over

In Australia they dont talk about % at all

I thought 5% was lighter than 15% (ie 15% tint)

I got 5% on the back ends and 15% on the front sides. No problem looking from the inside out. Went to a reputable shop.

I have a friend that got 35%/15% from some cheap shop. They look nice, but everything looks dark outside from the inside.

Hint: Don't cheap out on your tints.

No because 5% is the tint is only letting in 5% of the light outside. If you are letting in 15% of the light its going to be lighter.
