I think one of the hardest parts of losing weight is the idea that you have to 'give up' something that you enjoy. One of the reasons why I ballooned up to my heaviest is that I wasn't eating healthy enough, and I enjoyed too much of the things that are NOT good for us. This was my average day before starting my diet plan, keep in mind I also used to work 65 hours a week in an office job...as you can imagine, the following was not very good for losing weight:

Breakfast:

Pop Tart
Diet Pepsi from vending machines at office

Mid-morning Snack:

Pretzels
Root Beer from vending machines at office

Lunch:

Two to four slices of pepperoni pizza from local corner store
Big Slam of Pepsi
Doritoes 3.5 ounce bag
King Size Snickers Bar

Mid-afternoon Snack:

Pepsi
random candy bar from vending machines at work

Dinner:

Foot long whole wheat turkey sub from Subway with lettuce, pickles, onion, green pepper and double pepper jack cheese served up with lite mayo, Southwest chipolte sauce and oil
Big Slam of Pepsi

My biggest downfalls though (i.e. the things I REALLY liked) were definitely the soda, the chips, and the pizza. On days that I didn't work at the office, even days I could have cooked something nice and healthy at home, I opted to call the local pizza joint and order a 10? pepperoni pizza with extra cheese, and I would probably drink at least two 1 liter bottles of regular soda, Pepsi and Dr. Pepper being the big culprits with that.

Being a former Schwan's man, I also enjoyed the majority of their delicious products. Ice cream being one of my favorites...I used to love the peanut butter passion (chocolate ice cream with real peanut butter and peanut butter cups and peanut butter crunchies inside...DELICIOUS)...that has been kicked to the curb as well. But I still see my Schwan's man every two weeks to stock up on healthy things...here is a sample day for me, say for example tomorrow is Sunday, and it is a church day, so that is a busy day in and of itself with a morning service and an evening service and still trying to fit time to go to the gym to do cardio...also water is being consumed throughout the day, on a lifting day I generally try to consume about two gallons of water, and on days where it is strictly cardio I typically drink a gallon and a half of water.

Breakfast:

Two eggs, scrambled up with diced onions and green pepper

Mid-morning Snack, typically consumed on the way out the door to go to church:

2 scoops of Body Fortress whey protein (any flavor, 2.5 pound canister is $12.99 at Walmart) mixed with 12 ounces of water.

Lunch:

Tuna fish made with Kraft Mayonnaise made out of olive oil served on a whole wheat tortilla (I get these at Walmart and they are something like $1.89 for a package of 8, so two packages lasts me about two weeks), typically I substitute baby spinach leaves for lettuce.

Mid-afternoon snack:

Pork rinds or almonds (again, I do the majority of my grocery shopping at Walmart.)

Supper:

4 ounces of baked chicken breast seasoned with McCain's grill rubs
Half a can of Green Giant vegetables OR if on hand frozen broccoli or peas from Schwans.

The following is a list of what I typically buy on my grocery shops usually once every two weeks:

Vegetables (canned or frozen, doesn't really matter to me) for two weeks
One bag of baby spinach
Tuna fish (typically consumed during week two, half a can a day)
32 ounces of lean turkey breast
Two packages of whole wheat tortillas
Two dozen eggs
One whole onion
4 green peppers
Three bags of pork rinds
One can of almonds
Good Value Sugar Free Drink Mix (to replace soda), typically a can of grape (if they have any, that seems to be the most popular) and a can of orange (a lot of people think it tastes like Tang)

and on my Schwan's delivery day (and I change the amounts as needed, but as a starter):

2 boxes of #502 (chicken breast, hand trimmed, 4 ounces each)
1 box of #559 (Alaskan Salmon)
1 box of Asparagus spears

I also have a pizza recipe.

Take 1 of your whole wheat tortilla wraps

Put a squirt of cooking spray on the bottom (I use Pam). I typically once a month will buy a small can of Ragu pizza sauce, it usually keeps very well in the fridge and have pizza on Saturdays. I don't use any cheese since I am lactose intolerant. I top my pizza with Hormel Turkey Pepperoni and put it a preheated oven at 425 degrees for 8 minutes. It comes out delicious and tasty!
