How many calories, or what % of total daily intake should I consume as my breakfast meal? I had a pretty big breakfast this morning, and am wondering about what is considered to be a decent size in relation to the rest of the day's meals.

How important do you think eating a big breakfast is? Do you think it's more of a matter of controlling the appetite, or does it actually "rev" the metabolism for the rest of the day?

Cottage cheese, yogurt, grapes, grapefruit, oat bran, EFA capsules, decaf coffee with milk.

The macros came out to this: 488 kcals, 7.7 g fat, 81.3 g carbs, 48.9 g protein.

I usually eat about 1,400 calories a day (120 g protein).

I don't usually eat this much, but was pretty hungry this morning...now I'm pretty full! I'm not sure if I've been eating enough kcals on a daily basis, yet whenever I eat more, I end up feeling pretty bloatey! I can't tell if the bloating is from not eating enough the rest of the time, or if it's from eating too much at one time! Am I eating enough/too much?

It really doesn't matter as long as it fits into your daily macros. When do you work out? My breakfast is always fairly high in calories as well as I work out a few hours after breakfast.

1400 calories isn't a lot of calories. Are you sedentary? Do you work out a lot? 1400 isn't enough

X2!!

personally, i like to take 6-7 small meals every 2.5 hours!! but some other better like to take a bigger breakfast!! I think you should listen your hunger and stop whn you're full and/ or continue if you're still hungry!! As long as it enter in your daily macro you shouldn't worry about it!! You should even thinking about increasing your calories a little...or much more, depending of your activity level and your goals!! Not eating enough slow your metabolism!!

I don't think that can be quite right - that many grams of each macronutrient comes to about 585 cals. Right?

I had 3 protein pancakes, which have about 200 kcal total and 10g protein, with sugar free syrup and 6 liquid egg whites scrambled topped with mustard for a total of around 330kcal. With a cup of tea and a glass of lemonaid Xtend.

As others have said, 1400 sounds low. 1700 wouldn't be bad, specially if you're working out.

Oops, forgot to mention I had an apple cut up and warmed with the pancakes.. So total would be 400 kcal.
