Okay - I've been reading lots of posts and researching on this site as much as possible, and I'm very excited about getting started. Here is my basic plan - any feedback would really be helpful as I'm afraid of wasting any time doing anything wrong.

Stats:
5'3"
Weight - 132.5 (was 122 before recent pregnancy)

Diet:
Breakfast - 2 egg whites - scrambled
protein shake with skim milk, protein powder, and oatmeal

Lunch - roasted chicken and spinach

Snack - protein powder/water shake

Dinner - grilled chicken, grilled veggies (zucchini, mushrooms, onion, and pepper), roasted potatoes

Breakdown:
Calories - 1397
Protein - 154
Carbs - 133
Fat - 23

Exercise:
20 minutes treadmill 5x a week (HITT Training)
3x week lifting on bowflex

Your diet looks pretty good. Maybe just a little low on the calories, but you can always add a little healthy fat or extra serving on protein if needed.

If you have other alternatives to the bowflex, that would be your better choice. Visit dragondoor.com and purchase you a kettlebell and instructional vide/book. Get a barbell and some weights for the house. Stick with your basic compound movements and work most of the time upwards of 75% of your 1RM.

Newmommy....glad you are getting yourself started. :)
Your diet does look ok....add another meal in the evening though. This will up the cals a little and also keep the metabolism up a little longer.

You sound like you are making a good start. You'll make alot of changes along the way....we all do. What is important is that you set your goals and do what it takes to reach them. :)

How are you planning to do your weight training routine?

I am hopefully going to combine BFL with Bowflex - but we just bought the BFL book, so we'll see. For now I am doing the "better body workout" that came with our Bowflex. I am lifting 3 days a week and doing cardio 3 days a week. I decided anything more was completely unrealistic - especially considering I am 8 weeks postpartum/c-section, and I have a 2 month old to take care of

Sounds great! BLF is a good way to get the diet started and get into a routine of eating small frequent clean meals.
I don't think you need to do more with the workouts. You certainly do have your hands full at home now!
You will get your old body back....and it will be even better than before. :)
