Squats
405x1 PR!!!

("deload" squats) Don't know the proper name for them; on these i sank down until the bar was resting on the rack before going from a dead stop. The depth on these is REDICLOUS, like, beyond a2g. Im actually in a stretched position at the bottom i was so deep.

45 Degree Leg Press (not including weight of sled)
810x9 PR

FINALLY got fricken 4 plates a side. I HAVE A VID OF THE LIFT, but a freind (supercows on this site) has yet to upload it. Huge pr's on squats today. Wasn't able to stay at the gym long because i had to leave for a youth-group trip to the movies/put-put golf.

Wrestled freestyle for the first time today at a tournament. Did pretty well, went 2-0 wreslting 215. I also entered into a sambo tournament they were having, but there was no one else in my weight class. I was going to get an exhibition match with a guy who one of the ones in charge of a sambo group that was there, weighed 195 and in his mid-twenties probably. Unfotunately, as soon as we were going to get jackets so we could go, we found out that they were going to leave, after like 2 more matches, and weren't going to have any more exhibitions. :(

School is finally out!!! WE had finals monday-thursday this week though, so i decided to take the week off from lifting. Can't totally stay away from the gym though, so yesterday and today im doing "active recovery" workouts, with REALLY light weights, no real intensity, just going slow and focusing on the muscle, trying to work some blood in there.

Yesterday's workout:

Lying Leg curls
60x12
60x12

Cybex Horizontal leg press
140x12
200x12

DB walking lunges
25x20 steps
25x20 steps

Standing DB shoulder press
25x15
25x15

Standing DB laterals
12x12
12x12

Weighed in at 205, which isn't bad i guess for being sick a couple of days and still working my appetite back up.

Front Squats
275x8 PR
Back Squats (widowmaker)
295x18 PR

One of the most intense workouts i've ever had in my life. Def. got hyped up after spending some time on intensemuscle and watching that hack squat vid. Front Squats i havent done in a little over a month, but i added 20 pounds and 4 reps in that time, lol. I wasn't even able to go to failure for my legs, i could have easily gotten at least 2-3 more reps; I just couldn't keep the frickin bar on my shoulders correctly. On te back squats my form wasn't as good as it usually is. Got great depth on all reps, but i didn't stay as "tight" on some of the reps like i usually do. That set was ridiculously intense though, I was having spots all over my body that were prickling and starting to go numb, and i nearly collapsed at the end of the set. Felt pretty nautious and was still shaking 1-1.5 hours after the workout.

Verty fulfilling day so far ;)

Chest/shoulders/tris/back width/back thickness today:

BB Flat Bench Press

Seated DB press
90x4+2
75x10,2,1+1/2 RP

Seated DB side laterals (widowmaker)

Overhead Cable V-Bar Tricep Extensions
150x10,6,4 RP

Reverse-Grip BB rows
245x11?

Close-Grip Cable Rows (widowmaker)
200(stack)x28 (1-2 sec. hold on each contraction)

Great workout. The intensity I've had the last couple of DC workouts is crazy. Shoulder pressing strength was a little down after chest. Got great pumps though. All in all an amazing workout.

Good workout. Totally reworked my form on deadlifts. Narrowed stance and grip a bit, and changed the starting position to where i am leaning back more (i.e., might fall down if not holding on to the bar). Was fried by the last set of deadlifts.

Good workout again. Leg press went awesome. 10 plates a side is as many as our leg press will hold with stacking plates on top or something, and one of the guys working out in there got the chick working the desk to take pictures while i was doing the set. I actually started seeing stars during the heavy set, little pinpricks of light or something floating aroud everywhere, lol.

make him squat. IF he's going to be a wrestler, or participate in any sport really, squats, deadlifts, and powercleans are going to be the most important lifts for improving his performance. Also, have him contact the coach and see if they have any offseason practices or instructional days. Wrestling is a sport where technique is of MONUMENTAL importance; the more farmiliar he is with with the techniques and the finer nuances of the sport, the better he will do.

Update on the past week.

No more workouts in the gym since Monday. Tuesday-Friday i have been attending a wrestling camp put on by a 2x national wrestling champion and Beijing Olympian. While at the camp, the first 2 or 3 days i had to wrestle last years Heavyweight national champion basically the whole time we were doing live wrestling, and it was some of the most intense sessions i have ever done in my life. The only thing going through my head the entire time was "you're not going to die, you're not going to die". lol.

My coach called me this afternoon, and it turns out that a couple of teammates and i are going to leave tomorrow to go to missouri with some of the college wrestlers who were in charge and will attend a team camp put on by their college, staying with them during the week. And the entire thing will be of no cost at all to us other than for some food (the camp would normally cost $360 :D) So that i whati will be doing Sun-Thurs of next week. I'm feeling a bit beat up from this past camp, but i feel like its a great oppurtunity that i shouldnt pass up.

from another thread, updates

Got back home early this evening from a trip to a wrestling camp in missouri that went from Sun-Thurs. Went 11-0 wrestling 215/heavyweight throughout the weekend, and won some good matches against really tough opponents. So i haven't worked out in the gym in the last 2 weeks due to constant wrestling camps.

Itching to get back in the gym, but i figure i'll PROBABLY take the rest of the week off before hitting it hard again monday; i'm sure my body needs the rest after wrestling 7 hours a day the last ~4 days, lol

I will probably give WS4SB 3 a try in preparation for football conditioning a month from now. I'm going to be hauling hay ALL day tomorrow though, so i won't be able to start working out until at LEAST tuesday. I haven't had this long of a break from working out in...ever, lol. Its starting to get to me mentally. I HAVE to get back in the gym, and soon.

update on the past 10 dayys, lol.

I've been doing a lot of traveling lately, spent 3 or 4 days at my aunts house in loisville. Was able to get a back workout in on monday at a fricken huge ymca there, was like 8 stories tall, lol. Deadlifted 455x2 after doing 405 for 7 or so. Pretty much was done without a belt too. I had one on but it was big enough that it was 2-3 notches away from where i would usually have it.

Then the day after i got home from louisville i went to knoxville for a few day to visit my grandma, Got a Chest/hamstring/calf workout in on thursday. highlight=100lb. incline db press for 6 reps, and then 110's for a couple.

Got a shoulder/arm workout yesterday.

And now im leaving tomorrow for a church youth trip to daytona beach in florida, lol :P. Not sure if i will have access to a gym while there or not, i'll just have to see.

I've also been sick for the past few days, nothing horrible but i've just been a little nautious and had ZERO appetite. My weight has stayed around 205 after eating very little for 3 days and being glycogen depleted/a bit dehydrated though, so i guess that is about as low as i will be able to go without losing noticeable amounts of muscle/fat.

RIP frvrmuscle, didn't really interact with you on here but thats 16 is too young to die :(

Don't take this as some sentimental bull****, this is a genuine realisation that just came across my mind after hearing this news:
Its just surreal for someone who is one year younger than me, a lot more swole, physically active and who had so much ahead of him to pass away like that, you'd never expect it.

This is a lesson for all of us, though we'd tend to think as teens we have a long time to live our lives could be taken away at any time. There's no time to harbor grudges against others, no time to act rude and abrupt to our family members, no time to live in fear of others judgment and choose to be a loner and no time to procrastinate and delay your plans and dreams.

The guy was fukin dedicated to bb and if he had the time to transfer the resolve, drive and vision he had for his bb goals to his career he would have been a really succesful dude, its not fair his life was cut short.

Brahs imagine you died tomorrow, think of what people would say about you. If people would all mourn and respect you for your friendly nature, courage, drive, contributions to others and your achievments then keep on living how you are. If not then you've gotta change the way you act guys

RIP Frvr I hope you're soaring brah and I hope his family and friends can deal with the grief they'll be feeling

What a shock! This kid was on the road to greatness; why does it seem to be only the best who are snatched from us so prematurely this way? Oh well, I guess the Lord has some alternative task for him to do in another dimension. And he can lift with Steve Reeves, Mike Mentzer, and the other bodybuilding greats who he is now with.

R.I.P., Timothy, and sincere condolences to all the family and friends. For anyone who might want to see it, here is a link to the obituary (scroll down the page): http://www.courierpress.com/news/2009/aug/06/no-headline---nwz_obits_080709/?partner=RSS.
