In an attempt to take over the top album spot on iTunes currently occupied by Kanye's "808s & Heartbreak" and drum up sales for his own Christmas album, the faux-news host launched "Operation Humble Kanye" on "The Colbert Report" Monday night. (Colbert's "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All" is currently in 16th place.)
Colbert knocked Kanye's recent declaration that he's the voice of his generation saying, "with all the auto-tuning on your records you're barely the voice of your own albums."
"You want to be the voice of a generation—get in line," Colbert continues. "It goes me, Obama Girl, the freecreditreport.com guys—then it's a tie between you and Crocs."
We eagerly await West's all-caps blog rebuttal.

For mainstream, he's a good rapper. His recent **** isn't too great though. Too bad most miscers consider Lil Wayne to be the "godfather of hip hop".

His first three albums are close enough to say they're reaching the same audience, other than Stronger which started his whole electronic-phag stage becasue people thought the daft punk sample was cool, without that one song.. he never would've released this new album which is just horrible. Lyrically, it's pretty good.. not as good as either the College Dropout or Late Registration but it's not bad; too bad it's covered up with stupid auto-tune on everything.
The only people who will like his newest album are Kanye nuthuggers and people who think it's cool to love mainstream as his new stuff is going to be everywhere regardless of if it's good or not as he's built himself up to have his music out there.
IMO, not one of the best producers, decent but no where near the best.. atleast he isn't jacking beats liek Timbaland.

Just came back from his concert.. well we just arrived in time for Nas.. he came on 30 seconds after we walked in.. great preformance.. he did tracks from illmatic :D
me and another mate left 2 minutes after Kanye came on... that auto-tune was strong homo.. but there are a lot of jail bait bitches who simply adore him..

I was a huge fan of his on College Dropout, one of my favourite albums. Then it seemed like fame got into his head and the more popular he became the worse his music was. I can't stand him now. He had an awesome song on it with common too, one of my favourite off college dropout.
As for Em, same thing except his music just went to **** once he became popular after Slim Shady.
