Hmmm.....

Buying protein from Walmart might not have been the best idea. There are better quality products that are not much more expensive.

But you have already spent your money.

Basically, like any other protein supplement, I would take it post workout. Depending on your needs you could also take it upon waking, pre-workout, and before bedtime.

Hope this helps. Next time buy protein from somewhere else.

Good luck.

You should be stuffing whole foods down your throat. Drink a shake post workout, and eat real food at all other times.

Yeah, there are probably better quality whey proteins out there. Look for "100% Whey Protein" by the company Optimum...that's good stuff.

Still, what you have is better than nothing. Take about 40 to 50 grams of protein after a workout (about two scoops). Concentrate on eating sufficient amounts of protein, carbs, and fat.

Body Fortress Whey is just fine - it's what i use nowadays because the price is fantastic. I've really seen no change in gains made with this vs. other proteins... it also mixes super easily which is very important IMO.

For you zzoo - I think you should drink one heaping scoop of whey mixed in milk and eat a banana IMMEDIATELY after each workout. This will give you about 35g protien and about 50 carbs - it's a good post workout snack for a 13 yo

At times other than post workout you should be eating BIG and OFTEN while staying away from junk food (soda, candy, fast food, chips, ect.)

I would also recommend taking a daily multi-vitamin if you don't already.

Over the next two or three years you may fill-out quite a bit, or you may not. If you don't, your probably a hard-gainer. If this is the case, know that you can still pack on muscle but you will need to concentrate even harder on eating BIG and eating OFTEN.

but when is the good time to take it??

Immediately after completing your workout that day. Don't worry so much about the specific timing.

Whey protein by itself is not going to do jack if you don't take in enough protein and carbs from food. Focus more on that, then worry about taking the whey protein right after your workouts.
