Thanks! There are some awsome transformations in here, it just shows what hard work and knowledge can do. That's why these forums are such a great place!

I don't know about you guys but I don't think I would have been able to make my transformation without the help/advice of so many others before me!

This thread is going grow into a very motivating one. :)

Anyone else agree that liftjunkie06's calves must weigh at leats 10 pounds each. Its like walking in ankle weights. LOL

HAha, yea everyday! its an old dark, dirty old gym, and its great for hard training, and nobody in the way. A lot of chalk, iron plates, and good bars with great knurling on them. It does good for me :)

good back, decent chest! how was the competition?

I was one of the smaller in my class and one of the yonugest 2! I will be doing juniors again next year i hope, i gained alot of experience this year and neat year will be 100x better and easier!

That freaking gym is awesome. Sometimes I wish my girly, nancy, sally Golds Gym was like that. There is something about pumping iron in a hardcore dungeon atmosphere.

There was a time in my training adventures in college that during the summer the only place I had to lift was in the back alley behind my father's auto repair shop located in the city. Yes....a back city alley......just set up my bench out there and did pull ups on an old metal clothes line post. People would walk by as I trained and just do double takes......"what the??"

Anyways......awesome transformation and awesome gym!

Just give yourself 20+ weeks next time around and you'll be good to go... you've definitely got your size on your side, get shredded and you'll be hard to beat.

Your pictures are amazing. When I read in NB & F that you weighed something like 255 I couldn't beleive it. I saw those pics in your journal as well. So you lost almost 100 lbs? And you had sciatica of something? That's even more amazing. Nice work.

Dont worry,..you'll be spot on I'm sure! I'm too bust working on size. I dont think I was as lean as everyone thought tho,..I may have been around 5-6%. i think my vascularity was making me look leaner. hehe,..I guess that comes with old age,...haha!

Thanks man, I enjoy it as well. I went on vacation once, and found a gold sgym, and a gym right across the road called Mikes Hardcore gym. I didnt choose Golds, and I sitll have never stepped foot in the Golds gym everytme I visit the area. It was way hardcore, even betterso than the gym in the pics I posted of myself, and thats intense, plus it had a lot of equipment, and serious lifters, I wish I could hit that gym up everyday because of the atmosphere.

Thanks man I worked by myself, and went with the best of my overall knowledge, this time around im hiring a consultant for my next show.

Yeah I could not feel my left leg for much of my prep. :D That was probably the biggest hurdle, made feeling hungry sometimes easier to deal with. LOL

Yeah the 255 was back when I assumed that every pound you gain is muscle. LOL It wasn't super sloppy, but I could not take my shirt off for no good reason back then. :D

WOW. I would have never thought you were a former member of the fat guy club. I have a whole new added respect for you and your ability to stay so lean. Many times guys that stay as lean as you are just naturally lean.....apparently thats not the case for you. THAT is super motivational!

Naw..One thing most bodybuilders are guilty of is taking themselves waaaaay to seriously. Its like dude you are a normal person with a little more skeletal muscle than others, and not very common lbm to fat ratio. Get over yourself! :D

I mean look at the avi. :D LOL Laughing is the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes. :D

Hey Paul,..great pic,..brings back old times reading your thread! Hows your bulk phase coming?

Bulking is a lot of fun, all my shirts are fitting much better and all my lifts are strong. I am still doing cardio to keep from getting too much fat and its has helped me stay really vascular. I should be in really good position to start dieting around summer time next year...and get on stage in November for a shot at a pro card. I would like to add a few good lbs of muscle. At my gym they have an example of 5lbs of muscle and 5lbs of fat. Obviously the fat take up way more space but 5lbs of muscle is no joke....If I can add that to my back, legs and arms...shoulders..hell everywhere I will be very happy.

Naw..One thing most bodybuilders are guilty of is taking themselves waaaaay to seriously. Its like dude you are a normal person with a little more skeletal muscle than others, and not very common lbm to fat ratio. Get over yourself! :D

I mean look at the avi. :D LOL Laughing is the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes. :D

you have really good shape with a tiny waist and V taper in that last photo, never would have guessed it. Nice work!

A week and a half until my first show! Then, I will be the first female to post on this thread (unless someone gets courage before then!) I've dropped 40 pounds an gone from a size 12 to a 1 since May! I'm so excited to see where my final photos put me!

Stayfit. Thanks for the gentle kick in the ass lately. I am throwing my hat in the ring for the May USBF show in Jersey and a June USBF show. That one is in York PA if you want to consider doing it :)

Trust me...the transformations i've seen in here are truly inspiring and makes me DEFINITELY INTENT on making my next come out better than the last.

I did basically 14 weeks of dieting for my 1st bodybuilding competition. I did figure up until June 2007 where after placing 2nd in the overall because i came in too 'hard', I decided that i HATED it! So i decided to go on a bulk that became careless and i ballooned up to 170lbs. Picked the INBF Hercules show in NYC in June 2008 and made a go for my 1st bodybuilding comp with the help a prep coach. Suffice it to say...i took the Novice overall and vowed to myself to COME back in an open category in 2009 LEANER SHREDDED AND DRIER than I've ever been.

1st one - at 18 weeks before getting prep coach
2nd pic - at 12 weeks after starting working with the coach
3rd pic - 1 week out from show

Thanks..i am soooo looking fwd to making more gains and looking better each time! The excitement of it all gives me goose bumps each time i picture what my body could possibly look like when this plan is complete!

INBF Barbados Gran Prix in June. The INBF Hercules in NYC is a week later and right now I'm not sure if I can afford both trips. I seriously am working for the Pro-card, so If i get it in Barbados then, the NYC trip would not be necessary. I'm taking it one show at a time for now though.

We got a lot in common,..:) I just competed in an NGA show in Buffalo NY,..the Ca-Am/Olympus and won the overall Novice also just like you!,..hehe,..pretty cool huh? I too am going for my pro card in April,..April 4th,..this is a Can-Am show in Buffalo as well! I'm in a different class than you tho,..I am in Masters division, 40+ Do you have a prep journal? post one up in here if ya want.

Last year was my first real year competing (competed once the year before but only dieted for 4 weeks and did it just to see what it was like). Went through a seriously heavy bulking period for about 7 months and it shows in the first two pics. the rest of the pics are at my last show of the yar after about 17 weeks of hard dieting to fix the mistake of bulking to heavy. Live and learn. this year i have been staying much leaner in the offseason in hopes to come in much more conditioned then i am in these photos. Constructive criticism welcome.
