First of all, hello and thank you for stopping by.

I am making this prep log/journal in hopes that it will help keep me focused and motivated on my journey to the stage. I am hoping to keep this log as detailed as possible with regular updates, pictures, comments, feelings, maybe even questions if I am lucky enough to catch the eye of some of you more experienced BBers on these boards. I started my Journey 4 months before the below mentioned pic was taken. I tipped the scale at 295lbs at 6' tall. My BF % was ~40%. In the picture bellow I am roughly 275lbs @ 35% BF 4 months down the road.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/XxH0LyWaRsxX/122706_10511.jpg

I continued to lift and diet. Eventually I reached about 20% BF and through inconsistency in training and diet I fluctuated from 15-22% BF over the past year.

The leanest I have been is my current avatar picture.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/XxH0LyWaRsxX/120407_17291.jpg
Probably just under 15% BF

Here is my starting point pictures On OCT 1st. Almost exactly one month ago.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/XxH0LyWaRsxX/100908_12121.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/XxH0LyWaRsxX/100908_12111.jpg

I will take full set of update pics Nov 1st. Including, legs, back, a few mandatory shots.

As far as current stats I have taken measurements on Oct 1st as well.

Neck:17.3
Bicep:17
Forearm:12.6
Chest:44.5
Waist:39.7
Hips:41
Thigh:26
Calf:15.3
sad I know

And my my caliper and mirror calculations I have somewhere around 175-180 lbs of lean body mass right now.

Goals are to get into contest condition at a respectable weight by mid November 2009. Compete of coarse!

Short term goal, get to a more respectable body fat percentage over the next two months. I will start actual contest prep Right after July 4th. That gives me just over 8 months to recomp a bit, put on some muscle where needed, and hopefully keep my body fat % in check the entire time.

I follow a 3 day split currently Which runs

Day 1 Chest/Upper Back

Day 2 Rest

Day 3 Lower Back/Legs

Day 4 Rest

Day 5 Shoulders/Arms/Abs

Day 6 Rest

Rinse and repeat.

Routine focuses currently on lower volume high intensity workouts. Free weights for the most part using as many compound exercises as possible.

I am currently not supplementing with anything. Looking to get some creatine and whey asap.

Diet is currently a basic caloric deficit. My maintenance is around 3700-4000/day and i shoot to eat about 2200-2700 calories a day 2200 on off days 2700 on lifting days. With protein being about 150-200g a day and healthy fats 60-90g a day range.

Most importantly this is going to be the biggest learning experience of my life. I am looking for critique, advice, tips, insight, etc.... anything that helps is more then appreciated.

Thanks for reading. Enjoy your stay.

Oh I took measurements this morning to mark one month of progress at the gym. These are pretty crazy changes for a month. I think I forgot to add this in but on Oct 1st I also returned from a 5 month lifting hiatus where I fell off the banwagon for a while. So I am just getting back to where I was before I stopped.

Neck:17.3 +/-0
Bicep:17.5 +.5
Forearm:12.6 +/-0
Chest:45.7 +1.2
Waist:38.6 -1.1
Hips:39 -2
Thigh:26.4 +.4
Calf:15.7 +.4

Pretty happy with these results. Today I begin my second month of cutting. Looking to drop another 2% BF and hopefully stay above 215lbs. Will snap some progress pics at the gym today.

Good luck man. I started out back in January at around 22% BF and was quite hefty myself. I just finished 2nd place in my first show this past week. It was a long haul, but well worth it. Stick with it and dont ever look back. Food is good; but personal change and the sense of accomplishment is much better. My prep log is found lower down in this section if you care to check it out. It can be done with the proper determination. Did you pick a show yet? Thats really the clincher there.....once you commit to an actual show, things get intense! Ill be watching this thread!

I actually have! Nov 7th 2009. That gives me 8 months to get my body a little more up to par and then have 16 weeks to do of actual conditioning/prep.

And bro, I read every post in y0our prep log. On every page lol. Big congrats your transformation was inspiring to say the least.

I may actually do that show. Depends on when the NGA Olympus falls next year. Olympus is priority, but I was thinking of doing one of those USBF shows as well (Syracuse or Binghamton) just to try out another organization......I would like to see if one of them falls before the Olympus.

That would be awesome Oak. I live on Long Island but have no problem doing a bit of traveling. I too am not 100% sure of which exact show I will be doing I know I would like to compete around that time and this is one of the few shows within driving distance that already has a date posted.

Today is an offday from the gym for me. I feel pretty good. Legs are still sore from that leg session a few days ago. Going to hit Chest/Back tomorrow. I still have to take update pics. Gah!

Thanks for the complement but I felt weak in the gym last night. I made the mistake of going 5 hours after my last meal and was feeling very weak. I tried to give it my best shot and feel the soreness today from a good workout. Sometimes you just gotta get in there and get it done.

I weighed myself on campus today on a digital scale and weighed in at 216.5 clothed. Yikes did I freak out. I was hoping my weight would hold above 215 for a few more weeks but it look as though I will be under that shortly.

I cooked steak stirfry using 99% lean meat and vegetables. No rice or potatos. Was yummy and the macros were great. Going to be making this again. I am trying to rethink my cut approach as I feel the fat I am trying to lose is becoming more and more stubborn. I will re evaluate my efforts on thanksgiving, till then its the usuall.

Good night all. Lower day tomorrow and I'm psyched my legs might look like I actually lift for once. Never been lean enough to see seperation and its lookling like im 4-5% away from some nice cuts on my quads.

Most definitely, but not any time soon. I need to add on lots more muscle before that'll happen. Right now my first comp is tentatively scheduled for May or June of 2010, because that's the last chance I'll have to enter as a teen.

My goal is to WIN my first show, so I might as well take my sweet time and make sure that happens :)

I'm definitely going to check out your thread. I'm also from NY and will be competing again around the same time as you....

If your from Long Island, another good show to check out around that time is the INBF NYS Championships held in Poughkeepsie, NY (www.inbfnys.com). This is a great show. It's usually held the last week of October.

I'm also considering doing the USBF show....

Well, best of luck....keep strong my friend.

I agree. When I started cutting, the fat just melted off my mid section......I dropped like 8 inches off my waist in about the first 3 months. But, the mid section was also the last to go....my lower back was still fat when I competed. I think in men, the mid section is the MAIN source of back up energy, so its the first the body taps into because most of its fat is stored there. Then, when reserves get low, the body clings to whats left there for survival reasons.

So after reading more and more of these prep logs on this site and a few others I have decided to start a more rigorous regimen for getting as lean as possible by January. I have decided that I will start transitioning into a bulk by the end of January and would like to get as lean as possible over these next 8 or so weeks.

Although I have been estimating my cals and trying to get a lot of protein I think that I need to start tracking macros and calories more exactly, as well as doing Cardio 3 x a week. HIIT 2 x a week. SS 1 x a week.

New diet plan as well.

Workout days - 2800 cals, 250g protein, 100g fat, 200g carbs
Off Days - 2300 cals, 250g protein 100g fat, <100g carbs

Carbs on workout days I will try to eat mostly around my workouts.

I am starting to realize that these next 48 weeks will go by faster then I can imagine and I do not want to waste any time.

Going to hit Shoulders/Arms/Abs this afternoon.

Why bulk in January? Why not maintain calories at that time, while focusing on building muscle.....IMO makes more sense to maintain right before you are going to transition into a contest prep....If there is any time to 'bulk' now would be it.......

True that. I guess that is the problem with working in a limited time frame. Trying to get it all done in time.

I would bulk right now, if I wasn't so fat. I feel like bulking now with my current bf% would be a disaster. I am trying to get down to a BF% I am comfortable maintaining. When I get there, hopefully soon I will rev up the calories and go into building more. Maintaining calories and focusing on building is exactly what I plan on doing. I might stay in a slight caloric excess but I am trying to making small lean gains. Mostly bringing up lagging body parts. This whole prep is going to be one long learning experience.

I figure if I cut till mid-end of January I can get leaner and then have 4-5 months to put on a few LBS of muscle before prep.

Who knows haha.

Have you considered hiring a trainer? From your last statement of "Who Knows" sounds like you are all over the place in your plan.

I have considered it and even contacted a few on these boards. Unfortunately the price is holding me back right now. I will most likely hire someone to do my last 20 weeks or so but for now I can't afford it.

As far as being all over the place. I guess its just too early to tell what I will have to do 3-4 months down the line. This is the leanest I have been in years and I don't even know how I will look once I lean out a bit more. I just wish I knew what the best approach is as far as my timing goes and what I need to do as far as bulking/cutting before actual prep.

I'm hoping to get some advice from you guys =o

Oh I signed up for the free Scivation thing but don't know how much help it will be.

If I were in your position (and I was at one point, so I feel I can say this with some confidence).....I would just start cutting. You are fat enough (no disrespect intended) that you could SLOWLY cut and probably even continue to build, if not...just refine, muscle as you go. I basicly cut from January to October with 3 month break in the middle at maintenance (maybe a slight surplus at times). I go back in forth in my mind as to whether or not this was a good idea. On the one hand, the 3 month break from May-July, probably boosted my metabolism and helped mentally, but I could have definately come in leaner for the show. I only allowed myself 12 weeks (from August to October) to come down the rest of the way. Thats not a lot of time considering I was still probably 12-13% BF after my "break".

Not to mention, when I first started my cut, I was balls to the wall trying to win a transformation contest, dropping 3lbs a week for 14 weeks straight.

If I were you, I would just start a SLOW cut (1 -2lbs a week) from now until you show in October. Allow yourself cheat time for t-giving, Christmas, birthdays, etc. and just chip away at the fat. Come in as LEAN as possible. The extra muscle isnt gonna do a whole lot for you at your first show. LEAN is how you win.

P.S. Whats the free scivation thing?

Almost like a free online nutrition/training consult. Kinda neat if it actually helps.
And no disrespect taken at all mate. I have been cutting and will continue to do so. Thank you for the advice sir. Although I don't think I will need the remaining 11 1/2 months for cutting purposes I think time is a good thing to have lol. I'm about to step it up a notch so we will see what happens by new years.

I wouldn't be surprised if it took you 9-10 months of cutting to get contest lean... considering you probably won't be able to nail your diet all the time 11 1/2 months sound reasonable.

Looking good, bro.............keep up the hard work. Nice thickness in the pics. The first year can be tough, but just remember how far you have come if you get frustrated. Don't try to overcomplicate things either - just keep it simple and moving ahead. I think especially with us newbies we tend to outthink ourselves and make this more coplicated than need be. Keep lifting hard and eating clean and you'll rock the stage when the time comes.

Tomorrow is Turkey day and I will still be shooting for my ~2500 cals since I will not be lifting.

I am going with the advice here and going to continue to cut and unless I get super lean super quick, which won't happen since I am an Endo/Meso I guess It will all be about conditioning. Looks like I will be competing at a pathetic 170-175lbs lol.

Agreed. If you were spot on with your diet day in and day out, it would take 9 mos or so. Dont expect to be spot on everyday. If you give yourself 11 mos, that means you can do refeeds once per week and planned cheats for special occasions. Takes a lot of pressure off.

I think a consistant training plan along with a pretty basic diet designed to lose bf 1-1.5lbs/week could eventually get him to contest condition. You would come in a bit on the lighter side for 6'. The best bet would start your agressive training/diet plan and see re-evaluate your condition every 3 months.

Thank you for the help gents!

What do you all reckon a respectable contest weight is for someone that is 6'0". I am really hoping that cutting doesn't actually take up 11 months lol. Assuming right now I am about 15-16% BF and weigh 215lbs in the AM. That puts me at just around 180-181lbs of LBM.

Sore today from yesterdays session. Going home to see the family and eat some good foods. No gym today, I will hit chest/upper back tomorrow.

If you truly have 180 lbs of LBM, thats plenty to present a very respectable physique. If you weighed 195 on stage in contest condition....great. But seriously, I wouldnt worry about it. If youre commited to competing....it doesnt matter what your LBM is. Just diet down and display it. Dont get wrapped up in numbers. If you were sitting at 10% right now, id say it wouldnt hurt to bulk a bit, but I would want to make sure I was within range before I made any plans to bulk.

Well said, thank you for putting things into perspective for me. That is what I am trying to do, lets say I get down to 10-12% by January I have 5 months before starting a 20 week prep. A slow bulk or just a recomp at maintenance cals might be possible on a UD2.0 style diet. I've done it before and I'm sure this time would be no different.

For sure. If youre at 10-12% by jan (which would be exceptional), I would say a short stint at (or slightly above maintenance) would be beneficial to your metabolism. I wouldnt expect to put on huge amounts of muscle over 5 months....maybe a couple lbs....but even that will be hard because you dont want to add any fat.

Yea fat gain at that point would have to be almost non existant and even one or two more lbs of LBM would be more then welcome. And I agree getting to 10-12% by end of january would be quite the feat, but maybe not undoable.

Hey man, youre doing great! I would say both you and I are going to have to see how our bodies react to our cutting. We're basically the same stats and everything. I started running like a maniac and wearing ankle weights and heavy boots more often cause my legs and stomach are my current downfall. lol I'm really just hoping to get completely cut with as much muscle mass as I can have for the first show. My arms and chest are my biggest muscles right now so I know that if my arms go from 18" to 16.5" in Nov. 09, then they will look bigger than right now cause I'm chunky and I dont have the definition. :) Your arms are huge and we're going to look frikkin awesome bro!

So today I feel sore as heck from the lower session yesterday. Upper feels good and it looks like I'll be back in the gym today for Shoulders/Bis/Abs Might throw in a little extra forearm work as I think its one of my bigger weak points. I am also going to be doing an extra shoulder exercise as it is another weak point. My body is just one big weak point at the moment lol.

I have a more structured diet plan now. Going to be doing a 4 week long 500 below maintenance cruise till new years. That should result in a 2% drop. Maybe slightly more with the addition of a lb of LBM.

After this 4 week cruising period I am switching over to a UD2.0 style carb cycle diet. I have customized this to include a lot of stuff from the cyclical ketogenic diet as well as protein sparing modified fast. If all goes well I should be able to change body composition at a rate of -1lb of fat +.5lb of muscle a month. Doing this for 4 months should put me where I need to be to start contest prep without ending up too little on stage.

I am going to make it a point to go purchase a bathroom scale for my apartment as it will be important for tracking depleted and carbed up weights.

This is going to be a fun self experiment I suppose. I hope maybe a few of you guys reading this get something useful out of this.

Thanks for any comments or critique.

Got my Scivation diet and routine in my email today. Lando seems like a cool guy. The diet and training aren't much different from what I was doing. Training antagonist pairs is something I have been doing for over a year now. The Carb Haters Anonymous diet is similar to the low carb approach I have been taking but this looks like Keto to me. I am going to give it a shot starting next monday after I get all my supplements ordered.

I'm also going to have to make a trip to walmart today for a bathroom scale.

I feel nice and sore after yesterdays workout. No gym today. Chest/Back tomorrow. Also need to find my BF calipers. I know they are somewhere around the apartment.

Official 48 week out stats

Height 6' 0.5"
Weight 218.6lbs
BF% 15-17% (Scale - 24.7%)
LBM Estimated 180 (Scale says 166.6)

Measurements

Last Month This Month
Neck:17.3 +/-0 16.9 -.4
Bicep:17.5 +.5 Left 17.7 +.2 Right 18.1 +.6
Forearm:12.6 +/-0 Left 13.4 +.8 Right 13 +.4
Chest:45.7 +1.2 46.4 +.7
Waist:38.6 -1.1 37.4 -1.2 ( super happy about this)
Hips:39 -2 39 -/+ 0
Thigh:26.4 +.4 26.3 -.1
Calf:15.7 +.4 16.1 +.4

So everything went up except for waist and quads. Good ****. will take pics tomorrow night after chest/Back.

I'll definitely be following along. Whenever you talked about UD 2.0 earlier on in the thread, were you referring to Ultimate Diet 2.0? I've been curious about what exactly that entails.

I did CHA with ATS training for 4 weeks to see what it was all about, it definitely works and after a little tinkering I was steadily dropping 2lbs a week when I dropped it to 2600, though going by the Diabetic Exchange portions instead of calories was something I had to get used to.

What sort of cardio are you doing with your lifting? Hoping to learn some things from this thread!

I took a 5 month Hiatus from lifting and I have been in a caloric deficit of 1000 cals a day for 9 weeks now, I am very pleased with those numbers because they were clean reps, with great form, sick depth, and no injury. What more could a man ask for. On top of that the diet was TOP notch.

I will make my BBer e-pose proud with some sick progress over the next few months, your heads will turn guys. This fat kid is committed and will stop at nothing to reach his goals.

You got the right idea. I get caught up with numbers on a bulk because I tell myself my strength is increasing so my muscles must be getting bigger......and thats true to an extent. But, you're right. The weight is a tool. Thats it. If you can make your legs blistering sore with 245 lbs, then youre doing something right. Thats all that matters. The rest is all ego crap.

I am noticing every week slowly the cuts are coming in. More upper arm, shoulder definition was visible today compared to last shoulder/arm day.

So far so good, diet today will be perfect as usual.

man you have a great amount of muscle...makes me jealous lol. you asked what your bf% is based on those pics...honestly its impossible to tell based on those pics. if you post a full body front relaxed and full body rear relaxed it will be much easier to judge. plus posting pics of the proper poses will force you to practice your posing...something that you can NEVER practice too much. I practiced my posing about 4 times a week for 16 weeks and i was one of the few guys on stage able to hold the poses without becoming winded. good luck on your prep.

I just read through your log and I have to say you have come a long way. You are on the right path but you have to stop worrying about withering away. As long as you are eating right and lifting weights you will retain muscle. Ignore the scale for the sake of being big. Anyone can be big...it takes someone dedicated to be ripped and that's where you are headed.

I dropped from over 230lbs to just over 200, along the way I felt that same way as you do now but the leaner you get, especially below ten percent, you really realize how much your bodyweight means nothing...its all about how you look.

Good luck and I will be following.

Funny...I NEVER seem to mess up my diet by eating too little. I have done the opposite many times though. Heck, I just got back from my son's pre-school Christmas party (ran into Santa)......how many rice crispy treat did I have? Well, they dont count on legs day :).

Hey bro, just had a chance to read through the majority of your log and have to say you have made some great progress in a relatively short time. The difference in your before/current pics is very dramatic, you look like a different person. Although I come from the other end of the spectrum (I was a skinny kid), I feel I can really respect and relate to the work it has taken you to come this far. Looks like you are developing some great thickness in your back, shoulders, and arms, just keep hitting the chest hard. I am in a similar position there, chest is my weak point. Best of luck to you, I'll be checking in for your next workout.

Thanks Guys it means a lot to have people pushing you even if it is on a forum. Reps for all. I am going to see a doctor as my stomach condition is something that is starting to worry me. Complete loss of appetite and when I try to eat even small bland amounts of food my stomach feels like a knot. Pain.

Had some chicken and carbs before workout today and an Isopure 40g protein bev after. Donno what to eat really without feeling like ****.

Today was shoulders/bis/abs and the energy just wasn't there. I didn't lose any strength but I felt like each rep was a struggle. I kept focusing on what I want to look like on stage and pushed myself through the workout. Smoked a nice fat clip with my Isopure on the drive home. Relaxing shower, looking up primary care physicians to go to tomorrow so I can get my health figured out.

I would like to think that my back is going to be my bread and butter come competition day. But that is making me work twice as hard to kill it on Chest and shoulders and legs. I need to make dramatic changes to those muscle groups if I want any shot at looking remotely Aesthetic on stage.

Your making great progress but you have a long ways to go, don't think negative. It takes many years of consistency to produce the physique in ones eye.

A long way to go indeed. I do think I will be in 20 weeks out condition by the beginning of March, which means I will have 16 weeks at slightly above maintenance to do some recomping and build some density.

Thanks Cape, the knowledge that once I get leaner and leaner the changes are more and more noticeable is giving me the mental drive to push myself and stick to this. I am almost to the point where I have never been this lean in my life. It is exciting to finally see some definition. Another 5% to go and the changes will be much more dramatic week to week.

I feel a little better. I am getting my blood work results tomorrow. At least they can rule out what isn't wrong with me.

I gave it my all in the gym today, I lost strength since last week for sure. But hey on a serious cut its kind of expected to lose a bit of strength. When my stomach is better I am sure eating better and more will help in that department. I also discontinued creatine last week which definitely makes a noticeable difference in the gym.

I am noticing progress as far as muscle density and vascularity is improving slightly. I am about 15-16% by right now going by the mirror and pictures. That pins me at about 178-180lbs of Lean body mass. This number does make me happy because it means I will definitely be able to be competitive at my first show when I diet down. I should be able to compete at 180+lbs. I think this is realistic, and I understand the number doesnt actually matter. I've seen Alberto's pictures @ 5'9 154lbs he looked like a genetic freak of a man. I know having 3 inches on him that if i could come in with his conditioning even at 170lbs I can wreak some havok. This means I will be cutting and conditioning all the way up to my show, We will start muscle mass addition after I get a feel for what its like to diet down to super human body fat levels. I have a lot of respect for guys that bring the best conditioning to the stage, size will only take you so far.

Morning weight 203.4lbs Guess its going to stay sub 205 >.,<

40 weeks out from 1st show
43 weeks out from 2nd show

Plan as of now is to cut till March 10th
Recomp/Bulk till June 1st

Leaving 20 weeks for prep.

The plan is to stay at or under the 12-13% BF range during the recomp/bulk phase. I plan to work on bringing up lagging bodyparts slightly and reigniting my metabolism after this long initial cut.

Waist is holding at a steady 35.7" which means I lost a true 4" since Oct 1st.

Keep your eyes open for an update this afternoon.

Tomorrow I might do legs or take off. Double leg session this week might be beneficial after not training legs for a week in florida.

Weight is staying low suprisingly. I don't know how I magically lost 7 lbs on my trip down there but its gone and staying off. And the .5" off the waist is staying off as well.

So a little update. I had a dilemma about my time line leading up to the contest. I wasn't sure whether I should continue cutting for 40 weeks till show date. Whether to cut for another 6-7 weeks followed by a 12 week bulk and a 20 week prep. Or a 19 week bulk followed by 20 weeks of prep. I got a lot of advice to get shredded as possible on these boards.

After posting over on professionalmuscle.com I got a ton of great advice as well. I have an extremely weak chest/calves/forarms/real delts. The guys over on PM told me that if I cut from where I am now I will end up competing at low 170's. I understand from reading here that weight should not be a concern during prep, to go by the mirror and the camera but I don't think I would be happy standing over 6 feet tall weighing 170lbs.

A few competitors gave me the advice to do a clean bulk/recomp for 18 weeks or so focusing on my weakpoints(pretty much my whole body) and prep for the last 5 months all out. I am taking this advice. I have also found a trainer. I couldn't believe how much some IFBB pro's charge compared to trainers on here.

I will be shooting for about 3000 cals/day till monday.

Thank you Joe!!!

To anyone that still reads this boring journal I want to thank you. It means a lot knowing that I have more support on these forums than I do from actual friends and family. No one gets what I do except for my amazingly understanding girlfriend. I love this sport so far and I can't wait to compete. I do want to bring my best package come show time.

This is me losing my bulking virginity. I have yet to lift outside of a caloric deficit. I have been on a perpetual cut, loosing almost 90lbs to date. People ask me why I don't have great numbers or why my chest is so little. I've been on a permanent and inconsistent cut these past 2 years. Its time for a lil growing, the right kind this time around.

Wish me luck. If I feel that I'm just getting fat I will go back to cutting. For now I plan on bulking for the next 4 1/2 months while keeping BF levels under control.

More volume, more weight, hopefully some PR's!

I am going to switch up some exercises and really try hard with the diet.

My maintenance is somewhere around 3500 I believe. I will be starting the calorie increase slowly. Taking my time over the course of 3-4 weeks to build up to that number. Slowly increasing.

Thanks for reading. Hope everyone is doing great and I will post some pictures next week.

Thank you Shankuan. I have been peeking into your log. I am jealous of your Location.

Sunny skies and warm weather...I can always send you a pic...for those colllldddd ass days...which it seems you guys are having quite a bit of! Brrrrr...just thinking about it gives me the chills! We had a little rain yesterday and it downed the temp a bit and had me ...running for a jacket!

I've experienced minus degree weather a time or two...and it was the worst kind of COLD/CHILL i've ever felt in my life!

This by far is a worthy investment...you'll end up learning so much more about your body its unbelievable! And having someone ready to kick your ass if you slack off is a good motivator too...just ask questions and open your mind to the possibilities!

I share the excitement...watching another one crossover to the 'WILD SIDE'...lololol!

Joe, I am really excited to see what kind of results this will bring.

Started my new eating regimen this morning. So far I feel good. Doing day one of my new split tonight. Mandatory high intensity cardio after lifting sessions! Oy Vey! Meals are 500 cals a pop, and I eat when I am hungry. No target cal amount yet. Eat when hungry. Whole foods, keeping macros just right. I am ordering some LBA's today. Anyone have an experience with them? I have heard amazing first hand results from a lot of people.

Shankuan, I am very open to my trainers diet and training principles. I have seen the results his other clients have had and its nothing short of impressive.

Morning weight 207.6 holding steady, nice.

Yesterday was a good offday, my triceps are sore as hell from working them out for the first time directly since i've been lifting again.

My diet is making me happy. I am eating much healthier now, not just worrying about macros and calories but their sources are being scrutinized and I am eating well. Strength seems to be going up again now that I am out of the extreme caloric deficit I was in, weight is holding steady even though I bumped to 3k/day. I don't know where my trainer is going to have me go with the calories in another 5 days. My Liquid Beef Aminos should be here by Tuesday.

I like how much guess work I took out of the equation when I hired a trainer. He has been nothing but helpful so far. do you guys keep journals (handwritten) of everything you eat? when i bulk up, i do, and i write down my workouts as well. do you use the daily plate or fitday to calculate your intake and keep an online journal or something? which is the best way? seems to me written would be easiest; online would be more easy to duplicate...

Morning weight 208.2lbs

I don't want to jinx is but abs are getting closer and closer. the 3rd row from the top is starting to get uncovered.

Diet yesterday was pretty good. A little bit low on overall cals.

BF seems to be around 13-14% now. I know full abs are only a few pounds away. I can't wait to beast another 3 days in the gym sat-mon.

On a side note I figured some of you might find this pretty cool.

My younger brother and 3 of my friends from home are going to be competing with me at my Poughkeepsie show most likely.

My little brother 6'3.5" 217lbs 11-12%bf
Friend #1 5'10" 180lbs 15%bf
Friend #2 6'7" 255lbs 14-15%bf
Will be competing against lil bro in the same weight class most likely.

Friend 2 5'4"-5'5" 135lbs I would guess her to be at about 17-19% bf

Its pretty cool to have family and friends involved in the competition.

You are very motivated and with good reason! You KNOW you're on the right track when your on a bulk and your abs are popping up like popcorn and your weights are also blazing upwards. It keeps you wanting to see more and then pretty soon you're hooked irreversibly!!! :D
