welded pro-style DB?

--So I talked to this guy who's selling some DBs on craigslist. He indicated to me that they are basically pro-style, but the end cap is welded on, rather than removable. Have any of you guys seen this before? I have some solid steel DBs that are round like pro-style, but he's saying these are composed of individual 10lb plates, but they are not removable.

I'm basically wondering if this guy is simply mistaken, or if there are actually pro-style DBs where they weld the end caps on.

These were common enough way back when. Solid steel handle, usually a knurled sleeve, inside washers, plates, then an end plate. Weld the end of the handle to the end plate. It's a nice looking set up if you do it right.
