just a little background: couple weeks ago I tried out for the university powerlifting team and missed the cut to compete by 50 pounds. I have lifted raw for 5 years. Everyone who made it was using bench shirts, squat suits, and dead suits with a bunch of other stuff. A couple guys said I could easily compete if I got some gear. What are some reccomendations on some entry level shirts and suits that wont break the bank? I know I can acheive 50 pounds on my lifts but that might take a while, and I really want to compete.

also I couldn't find any good videos on how they should be fit or how to properly use them (technique to maximize their effectiveness)

thanks for the help guys!

I get 80-100lbs out of my Titan superior.
Its cheap as well!!!

the three shirts listed above will be more than fine!
A super Katana is a bit much...unless he has been doing a bucket load of lock out work.

Look for second hand gear as well.

that's why it's the lowest acceptable level. single ply is at the bottom of the pile because single ply is for those not strong enough to lift raw and to weak to lift the big multi ply numbers.

Titan

You can get the Superior for like $60 and IMO, it blows the bottom of the line inzer suits (champion & z suit) out of the water. You can up grade to the Centurion and get quite a bit of carryover from that suit. Then, you can still add a pair of Titan briefs to the Centurion before you ever step up to double ply.

All of the titan shirts are good too. I used a fury for a while, but the F6 was more natural for me because I arch big. I had some training partners that were hitting more in their Katana's then they previously did in double ply shirts.

forgot to throw in that the titan squat suits are good for sumo deadlifting as well.

The gear posted by Big Willie are not worth your money. Inzer makes great top of the line gear, but that really only applies to their higher end products, in my opinion. So the Leviathan, RageX, Phenom, and Fusion are all fantastic pieces of gear, but for entry level stuff I would go with some titan gear. Depending on your lifts though, you may be able to jump right into the higher end stuff, especially if you have a team to train with. If that's the case, I say you go for the best gear you can afford that is legal for you to compete in.
