Only a tiny bit of leg drive, barely (and I mean barely) bending the knees just to get some momentum on heavy sets. Yes or no?

push press
i dont think it really matters unless you're planning on doing some strict overhead press competition...a little bit of cheating on non-competition lifts is fine as long as it's not so ridiculous it's going to injure you for sure

Thanks.
So strict push press involes no leg drive at all?
I just recently started going heavy on it (135... heavy for me :P) and I could do 2-3 reps with strict form, but the remaining 2-3 reps I have to bend my knees a little to get some drive.

a push press is an overhead press like you're doing on the last 2-3 reps. as far as im concerned anyway,do what you gotta do to finish your set

A push press always involves leg drive, a strict press has none, however one can still use hip drive in a press an it will still be stricter than a push press.

personally, i wouldn't use leg drive to finish the set. just because, essntially, you're switching exercises halfway through, and making progress hard to measure... i'd drop 5-10lbs, and do 5 strict reps, or add 10 lbs and do 5 push presses, switch back-and-forth each week maybe, that way you can gauge your progress, otherwise you don't know if you're getting stronger, or just using a TINY bit more leg drive that day

that is fine, it can help you lift more weight than you would otherwise be able to. I see at as like having a spotter help you get that last rep your wouldn't have done on your own.

I'd agree with this. If you're working strict press, don't use the leg drive. If you're working push press, by all means, use the drive. I rarely strict press.
