I've read a few reviews and a lot of online complaints of the sub compact jamming frequently and all models having trouble with JHP ammo. There are better options.

will be used for target. tactical has 4.5" barrel for increased velocity and accuracy from what i've read.

Uhhh yeah, that's the case with a longer barrel in general

yeah, not relaying info with that. I thought i would throw that out there in case anyone has heard anything in regards to the barrel.

I really really like the design.

Low bore axis, comfortable grip with interchangeable back-straps, ergonomic features, manual 1911 style safety option (coming soon for 9/40), beavertail, mag release button is actually quite nice, etc.

The only issue I originally had with it was that the trigger wasn't the best, however, with the new 5" bbl match gun I've read the trigger is MUCH better.

The only thing is I've read about some reliability issues... If they fix those issues (probably will over time) IMO it'll be an awesome weapon.

Some people have flawless performance with it, some don't... I'd probably wait until its been around longer and a few small issues have been fixed before I'd get one.

That was my only complaint when I shot when a while back. If the trigger is improved I think it's a sold platform.

this is my only concern about this model. im a first time handgunner, but i am experienced around long rifles. will i really notice the 'mushy' trigger? i understand this is no 1911 trigger. im looking to fire off quick groups.

ive read that the xd has the same type of complaint, albiet it greatly improves itself after 500-600 rounds.

What other companies can you get there? Try looking at a GLOCK 17.

some glocks are available here and they are incredibly overproced. looking towards 1000-1200.

i was just doing some reading on the xd, and this article reviewer explains that he must point his sights at 6o clock to hit his bullseye a sper his manual.

can anyone support this ?

"I did notice that I have a tendency to shoot high with this pistol. The manual says that the XD-9 is designed to use the "6 o'clock" sighting position at 25 yards, meaning that one should put the sights at the 6 o'clock position of the point you wish the bullet to impact. The manual should be taken seriously on this. The gun isn't sighted for "point of aim." shooting."

IMHO, glocks and M&P triggers are worse than XD's.

Altho there are alot of trigger kits available for the glock to help resolve that.

That being said, i think the FNP9 is the best polytrigger i have ever felt, bone stock.

Where are you located? That's ridiculous pricing for a GLOCK. Nice 1911s run that much.

Hell no!

M&P is a great weapon, but like some others have said, I like my XD45 better.
