If I was competing as a teen in the NPC, at 5'10, what division would be optimal for my height, I was thinking, the Middleweight, considering I am around the 185, it would be to hard to compete at the lightheavy, when I have to cut down

At most regional shows, there will only be two classes for teens. Talk to the promoter of the event you're looking to compete in to see what the class cutoffs are. You won't have to worry about 4 class shows until/if you compete in Teen Nationals.

So chances are they would be lightheavy and what welter or light?

It is usually just designated as Teen A and B.

And roughly what weight would that be because I dont think I can roll with the 200lb 4%ers who have been competing alot

Lol - 200 lb 4% teens? At a regional show? Relax!

Seriously, just contact the promoter to see how many classes there are for teens and what the splits are. It varies.

I want to do a NY show in like may-june can i find shows that far in advance,

There is no NPC held in Canada right?

The Atlantic States is in NY in June. There were 7 teens this year in that show.

In Canada, the amateur division that leads to the IFBB is called the CBBF:

cbbf work pretty much the same way as NPC, with policies and classes?

theres no ideal weight for you at 5'10'', you just need to find the weight that you look best at, and as a teen you really dont have much time. its not as big and ripped as you can get its as big and ripped as you can get while still being proportionate.

In NY NPC shows, there are divisions A & B, as dvsness said. A is up to 18 years old and B is over 18 and under 20. Then the A and B winner are judged for overall teen winner. In a local or regional show, you do not need to be a US citizen to compete.


Sounds like it would be more practical to compete in CBBF. Check the web site for info.

I'd reccomend being a SHREDDED Middleweight but DRY to the bone! I'm guessing you're looking to do MORE than a regional show right? :)
