That is some very nice squatting, as usual.
When you did smolov, did you do the full 13 weeks? Did you use your actual 1rm or a little less. Thanks.

No I only ran the first 4-5 weeks but implemented it into my routine afterwards. I ran into the old dilemma of feeling 'fat' so mini cutted and lost alot of progress lol. Used a 1rm+10lbs I think to make it more difficult.

Nice man tell me when your working ill stop in and drop a complement to your manager for you. I was hired seasonal at best buy when i worked at the one on long island and they kept me on after the holidays cause i did a good job, just work hard and itll work out

Life's been a tad hectic the past few weeks. This week seemed to pick up the slack and multply a few times. Haven't really been eating nearly enough - possibly maintainence or so due to financial issues , but I make sure to try my hardest haha.

Wed: 10/21/09

chest/tris

flat db: 100x7, 100x6, 100x6
incline db: 80x8, 80x6
smith close grip: 225x2, 225x2, 225x2, 185x5
db flat flyes: 40x12 (3 sets)
tri pess downs: 4 sets x 6-8 reps


Last night I did Back, was pretty horrible.

Deadlifts

365x2
405x2
425x2 (PR i believe.)

I tried doing Reverse hypers but kept throwing up in my mouth so had to stop. Stomach issues were apparent during deads also.

Did some close grip V pulley rows.. Got up to 220x4 (PR) , and some Lat pull downs.

Arms and chest are growing nicely , legs/back seem to be maintaining but I guess that's what I need for now. Car passed inspection today so when I can get ahold of License money Ill take the driving test and pass it with flying colours.

Protein sources have been lulz worthy lol. Yeah , they'll be higher this week in my opinion. Ive got 430 for a few sets. Last week I had weird digestion problems where coffee/water kept throwing up in my mouth.

Funny you mention that Jay.. But I might be joining AFF again :D My best friend wants me to start training him. He has sooo much untapped potential. Naturally wide, etc. He lives 10 minutes away from the gym too haha. Another thing is I might be moving in with him.. So Ohhhh yaehhh like the kool aid man :D

Ive always used one haha. Without it I feel lost in a sense. Yea, I was pumped to press the 90s because all throughout prep Id be hitting 6-8 reps with the 70-80s lmao.

Another friend that works the same job as me wants to get an apartment with him.. but with College coming up and what not I dont think it's really advisable on my part.. I need to focus more so on school than handling an apartment considering I have a roof over my head as is from both my dad and other friend. Just isn't worth the risk.. Any one else wanna drop their 2 cents?

pretty sick workout Brett, you may learn to embrace the ipod-less workouts. I use to train with an ipod but now I only wear an ipod for cardio. It is far better to train ipod-less in my opinion. No wires getting in the way, no worrying about putting on a good song and coordinating it with your set, no ipod in your pocket getting smashed by dumbbels or falling out during decline press. Plus, I actually find I am way more focused on training without the ipod; its like all you have to think about is the lift and not what music is streaming through your ears.

haha thats the standard thought process of a new lifter, people that say that to me I always tell them about your body wanting to stay in an equilibrium and working legs allows for upper body to not stall imo

Pics are doo doo. Only thing Ive noticed changing is my chest/delts while my arms refuse ta grow. (minus biceps, tris are just gay.)

I'll get better ones soon if I get a chance.

Mini cut might actually go down - I'm a firm believer that if you're not happy with yourself at your current state there's no sense in forcing it to go one way when you don't want it to. I think I explained this to Zak a few days ago. Past 5lbs or so have been bleh-ish.

LOLZ. Yeah, I used to always cover up the chest in that pose to hide the weakness of it but now its more along of "HIDE THE ABS"

First day of Mini cut complete. In all weirdness it actually felt pretty good WEIGHING food as I haven't done so in a few months. (Eyeballing, which Ive been accurate as all hell..prep FTW.) It was more of a mental prep to see if I still had the strictness of weighing food, hitting macros dead on, yadi yada. Cardio was actually challenging.. This thingy won't last too long i've just been in a rut the past month or so - dealing with this that and the third. So probably one week, maybe less, maybe another week if I decide to haha. I forget how quickly I can drop teh fatz0rz according to Berto ;]

Oh yea the split works great, its a combination of a year of just messing around with what I was doing until i found something I liked and its a great way to hit everything twice a week upper body and not be sore.

Last night's work out was mediocre at best. Very frustrated with my performance. Need to seriously get back on the ball in terms of eating more as Ive been struggling lately really. Currently sketching in a new routine because as stated before the past 1-2 months or so have been sporadic as all hell.. with nothing set in stone.. thus no weight gain in terms of lifting/myself.

New split goes into effect Sunday or Monday. For now Im messing with a few things to see how I respond. Never really believed in over training and tonight it was evident. That quote of myself Bustasinclair posted really lit a fire under my ass and it carried through out tonight's workout.

So two days ago I squatted a crappy 365x2 for 3 sets, and Deadlifted 405x2, 430x1. Followed up by pounding out 6 sets of Reverse hypers and 5 sets of GHR's due to being frustrated with my lack luster performance.

Today I debated on Rack pulls or Deads..haha. Womp womp.



Deadlifts started off with ALOT of pull throughs, inbetween sets as well. i like them.

Amazing weekend with James, Paul and a few others off bb.com

Really well run show and the first bodybuilding one I've ever been to without competing haha. Was different from my point of view and FUN FUN FUN. Helped both with their tans back stage and shot hundreds of pics of the other competitors, etc. Shook hands with alot as well, just an overall fun time. Atmosphere was incredible and needless to say I can't wait till 2011.

id do more of a write up but im tired, haha. For anyone more interested check out Austrian Oak's log, Blazed, both did AMAZING. PS - Austrian Oak has the coolest sideburns Ive seen in awhile, LOL.

Amazing weekend with James, Paul and a few others off bb.com

Really well run show and the first bodybuilding one I've ever been to without competing haha. Was different from my point of view and FUN FUN FUN. Helped both with their tans back stage and shot hundreds of pics of the other competitors, etc. Shook hands with alot as well, just an overall fun time. Atmosphere was incredible and needless to say I can't wait till 2011.

id do more of a write up but im tired, haha. For anyone more interested check out Austrian Oak's log, Blazed, both did AMAZING. PS - Austrian Oak has the coolest sideburns Ive seen in awhile, LOL.

Trust me Brett, once you get to chill backstage at the World's you will see some naturals that look everything, but natty. You will be in awe, but its motivating to see that you can take it to such levels so long as you put in the work. :)

Sick weight. Deadlifts don't seem to be a problem for you. In my experience and from what I have heard, speed work isn't all that great. It doesn't even make sense to me. You should always be trying to move the weight as fast as possible. I have heard that box squats and paused squats will help you a lot more with explosiveness and speed if thats what your looking for. Anyways, great numbers.

All the vids I've seen he deloads completely. There's actually a calculator for that max shhh. It at least gets you close.

Despite the current back pic and how lean it looks , Ive been debating a mini cut for maybe 4 weeks. Why? I currently have NO appetite what so ever and think that it'd help out some. Nick hit me up last night and I told'em I was eating Swiss rolls just to get cals in lmao. Never ever ever thought I'd state this but I suppose 7 months bulking does that to ya LOL

Oh hai thar gaiz, I was in Baltimore for the USBF Junior Nationals. James took 4th place in the Jr nats and 1st in Bantams. Got piccies but Im too lazy to upload so we'll see where that ends up. Semi-striated butt cheeks were had on James the night prior so good job brett man for prepping two manlets to 1st place victories. Overal Jr nats winner posts on Body space and Im gonna try to find it - he was 24 , looked purdy damn good but after seeing Worlds... honestly nothing holds a candle.

After witnessing Worlds; along with other shows, and taking serious criticism from people I might by pass 2011 if Im not big enough up top. I'll leave that to Bert & Erny. (eric youre erny, why, ive no clue. i said so. take it. yea. whats up whats up.)

Honestly, I think that's a good idea to pass up 2011 to bring up the upper. It's up to you though obviously....and I can't even imagine what the wheels will look like 3-4 years from now.
