that is interesting that they say only 10% of calories from fat. I wonder what kind of activity the persons in the study were subjected

It could possibly be just one of those things, like taking vitamins, for example, that did it.

They said the activity level was "moderate", and that usually means walking on a treadmill or jogging for 40 minutes daily. I'd like to see if the effects on teleromase are different for different activity levels. How would martial artists rate vs. bodybuilders, etc.

I put a lot of weight on information if Dean Ornish's name is attached to it. He's got a good head on his shoulders for a doctor.

As far as the 10% fat is concerned, I don't think that's so odd when the real culprit in the western diet that's killing people off in droves is refined grains and syrups. Hell, even granulated sugar isn't that bad. I know we've talked about this before on BB.com OV35, but just look at the Ahmish diet and their health.

The real key here, I think, is keeping your body mobile throughout the day and not eating refined foods.

That's exactly why I used them as an example as to why eating butter and sugar isn't necessarily a bad thing. They eat no high fructose corn syrup (as far as I know), but they eat plenty of sugar and flour. They just keep mobile throughout the day.

I bet they get plenty of HCFS as I know a lot of them (at least up where I see them) shop at the local stores and buy breads and other off the shelf items.
