Hi everyone, So i been dieting now for a few weeks and have been making a lot of improvements with my body also my strength and stamina has increase tremendously. But lately I've been feeling run down, once i finish a hard core training session the next day my energy levels are very low and sometimes I even feel like flu like symptoms. I was wondering if any-one here have any suggestion of supplements that i could take to keep my energy levels up and also to help me with my recovery time. I'm currently taking a multivitamin, extra vitamin c and e and extra magnesium, I also take energy supplements/fat burners 1 hour before i get ready for my weight training session. I have a very healthy diet program with healthy fats, lean protein, low glycemic carbs lost of green veggies, low glycemic fruits. Here's a brief description of my workouts. I'm currently training for a bi-atholon. I do very intense training (3x a week for 30-45mints) with a combination of weights (drop set, super sets, push/pull, circuit training, higher weight lower reps, lower reps higher weights etc.),sport condition/plyometric/calisthenic etc. On cardio days i either box, run, bike outdoors, or do cardio machines at the gym, spin classes, kickboxing classes, step classes for about 45-1hour (5 to 6x a week). Once i finish the bi-atholon i have plans to try-out for a rowing team. Any type of advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance.

To be honest with you, that is a classic sign of your body needing more food. Especially carbs. I'd drop the fat burner and get your diet in order. Post in the nutrition section your stats, cals, macros, and workout routine. Make changes now before you burn yourself out.

I totally agree w/ freebird. I just wrapped up a triathalon and know how hard you are training. It is VERY hard to diet with that kind of schedule, if you are run down, you need more cals. Most of those need to come from complex carbs/proteins/fats. Try a high GI carb (rice cake or bananna) with a protein shake POST workout (like within 15 min.), this helps to rebuild faster. Works wonders when you are training like a maniac... You may want to post your diet too so we can take a sneak peek! Good luck with the bi athalon!

You might want to also try adding in some BCAA's while you are doing all that cardio. I am currently training for a figure show and I know they have helped me maintain my strength and with recovery time.
Good luck to you.

You know if I were you I would take this and run it aginst your daily energy output.... use something like dailyplate.com or fitday.com and compare your intake of cals to your output see what the difference is. See what your def is running.

I agree with the BCAA recommendation. I would also add glutamine for sure.
