please let the grill master do his/her thing.
I was the grill master yesterday and everyone was all up in the mix and it was annoying me. I hate when people come and put stuff on the grill and make suggestions and stuff. I'm trying to make room for more patties and before I can step 2 feet away from the grill, people are putting their buns on the grill. Then the grease from the burger drips down and ignites a huge flame under the bun which chars it beyond recognition. So now a bun is thrown in the trash while homeless people are digging in dumpsters for food. But instead of realizing that he'll just have to eat his burger w/o the luxury of a toasted bun, he reaches in the bag and puts another bun in the exact same spot.
Other annoyances..
"Let's put the corn on now.. we should put the corn on.."
Shut your pie-hole, by the time the corn is done, the coals won't be hot enough to cook the chicken and you'll catch a salmonella infection. Then you're gonna bitch about how my cooking made you sick.
Also, statements like:
"Hey, can you make one for me?"
"Hey, save that one for me."
"Hey, I called that one, make sure nobody else takes it."
are all things I don't care to hear. I don't have the patience to designate pieces of meat nor do I have the skill to distinguish which one belongs to who. I make them and I put them on the platter when they're done. What you do from there is up to you and out of my hands. You want your piece well-done? Go to Black Angus.
OK, end of rant.. Aside from that.. enjoy your labor day, have fun, don't get too smashed and remember to pour a little for all the hardworking people both here and abroad who bust/have busted their asses to make a decent living. Or did you forget what we were celebrating? =)
