I was in my mom's clothing store the other day and noticed that the smallest size she had in plain white tee's were XL. And they were all XL-Tall meaning that the bottom extended down more for someone with a tall, lanky physique.
"What's w/these sizes Mom?"
"There is simply no demand for anything smaller than XL.. I actually have a hard time getting rid of the XL's sometimes." she replied.
I myself wear a medium, a small if I want to be whorish and let my pecs pop out. Tell me why a kid who's thigh circumference was equal to my wrist circumference comes in asking for a 3XL?????
He tries it on and says, "Perfect!". My mom rings him up and he throws his previous shirt in a bag and walks out of the store w/his new 3XL-Tall shirt thinking he looked super cool.. Little did he know that he resembled this gentleman:

I don't get it. the world is made for fat people, I can't find a 30 inch belt to save my life. Where I workout you can have free w/o clothes to wear XXXL XXl Xl or large.

*chortle* Now I'm going to feel guilty the next time I wear a small shirt.

I finally found one but it took me over 15 failed attempts. I treat it like it's an irreplaceable family heirloom.

muhahahahahaha! Us giants are taking over the world slowly but surely. Before long you won't even be able to buy a small car, nothing but XL or bigger. LOL!
Funny thing is just a few years back it used to be the opposite. I couldn't find a 2x or bigger, all they had was small medium and large.

Kinda like the shorts that extend almost to the ankles... WTF is that all about?
Must be the (almost) male version of capri pants!

I completely agree. I have a difficult time finding pants and shorts that fit correctly. It wasn't as difficult 20 years ago.

it doesn't take too many rounds on the walmart aisle to figure that out heh heh
I can't say much though as I was one of the round ones not too long ago.

I can find pants that fit me now (length wise that is). Couldn't do that two years ago as I hit my unhealthy weight max.
Now the problem is trying to let my insurance company know that their "healthy eating" plans will eliminate all the gains I've made over the past year and a half.

Two years ago 5'8 and 235-240lbs (high body fat). No size 40s would fit me.
Actually couldn't find anything above a 36 that would fit me. Have to see if thats changed now.

It feels great to actuall be able to buy pants that fit again (length wise).

Actually guys, what I was pointing out was that the kids these days are wearing shirts that are like 3 or 4 sizes too big for them. Most of the guys who buy 2XL and up shirts are not big or overweight so they could easily fit a medium or a large if they want breathing room. But what's funny is an obese guy who'd wear a 3XL would come in and get a 6XL.... My mom has actually had shirts that were up to 7XL..

Who knew that the next big thing in men's fashion would be cotton muu-muus and Capri pants.

Baggy clothes might be "in" but I'm not hiding all this work with clothes that are to big. A plain white medium T-Shirt is my fashion statement, pecs push out the front and arms fill the sleeves, a perfect fit.

Friggin ay! Bring it on!
I'm all for this new minority! Then once the rest [edit: 'unhealthy types', of course] croak from hypertension, strokes, type-II diabetes and general lethargy, WE can relaim the world!
:)
(Of course, I actually have to attain status in this minority first...) ;)

Most of the time I feel young but seeing kids in those ridiculous shirts makes me feel really old. "What the hell is that kid wearing? That shirt goes down to his knees! Back in my day we...."

Yeah, I picked up on your original point. It's true. I see even 12 year olds wearing shirts and pants their fathers could wear.
On the other hand I have the reverse problem. I usually wear XL shirts, polo, t, collared. T shirts and collared shirts fit fine except for the sleeves being too long on collared shirts. I take a 33 sleeve, but for XL they are usually 34-35.
Anyhoo, I'm finding that even with XL polos, they are too short. I prefer them tucked in, especially with dress slacks, but I can't. Washing them in cold, and drying low even shrinks them lengthwise. I guess I should take a cue from these kids and buy super oversized. Then they'll shrink to my size. :D

Exactly! I don't understand why some of these some-what [dare I say] ghetto youngster at my gym are pretty swole. But when they walk in with their street clothes, they're wearing these huge hooded sweaters. And as big as their hoodies are, the bottom of their t-shirts still hang down under it like a bed skirt.
Nobody is asking you to wear anything skin tight but damn, why not wear something that shows your physique off just a little bit??

I didn't even know that they made clothes up to a size 7X! That's just ridiculous. I agree about the kids wearing way too big clothes. It looks silly. Worse than the t-shirts though are the pant waists down to the knees. They they have to waddle to walk so they don't fall off. That just looks like they are ducks getting ready to sit on the toilet to me LOL If they knew how stupid they looked.
Here it is a different problem. We have a huge majority of Asians living here so all the sizes are very small for Asians. Large sizes are very difficult to get here. Fortunately I don't need the large sizes :D
To all you men who want 30" belts. I keep telling you to shop in the ladies dept for those. There are many that look just like the men's.

You know why things like this bother you now and didn't in the 80s? Because back then the people bothered by things like this were your parents, you're getting old, nothing more, nothing less. Accept it. Every era has fads.

I love 80's Madonna... she's so hot. Early 90's Madonna pales in comparison.
