Just the two of us!

My wife and I are going away for the weekend by ourselves. This will be the second time and the longest we have ever been without the kids (in almost 15 years). In a way I already miss them and we are not leaving for another two hours. I will try to remember to take the camera and get some pics.

I'll tell ya. They scared the **** out of me a couple times. I would be asleep then roll over, open my eyes for some unknown reason to have a little face staring back at me. Good times.

Not sure how far north Monroe Michigan is but if you two ever get the chance you should go to Mackinac Island. It sits just off the tip of the upper penninsula. Most romantic trip I have ever taken. No cars are allowed on the island. Only horse drawn carriages and bicycles.

In any case have a great trip and use this time to get to know each other all over again.

I'm back. The trip was ok...not really that relaxing but ok.

Monroe is about 10 min drive from the Ohio boarder...east side of state. I told my wife if we ever decide to take another trip it will be to Mackinac...I have been there before but it has been along time. Growing up we had property 30 miles west of Higgins Lake (very close to grayling). We did stop on the way back in Frankenmuth (spelling?). We lived in Germany for 3 years while in the military so my wife fell in love...I'm pretty sure our next trip will be there.

My wife and I will celebrate our 14th next month and she said she wants us to get away for the entire weekend. We've never spent more than one day away from the kids, so it should be interesting.
