This is maybe going to sound a bit weird, but I was doing incline presses today and hit what I thought was my last rep. All of a sudden, and I have no idea why, Bodyhard popped into my head. His Avatar, profile pictures and his ups and downs etc which made me say to myself "Come on you noodle armed nancy, one more rep - Bodyhard would do it!"
And you know what? 1 more rep!
Thanks BH!

My husband has always had that affect on people in every gym he has trained. I have been around bodybuilding for as long as I have been with John and I have never seen anyone train as hard as he does. He really pushes himself to the point that he scares me.

man.. after following his recovery thread from start to finish.. I agree with you on that one.. If he can go through what he did.. I'm sure I can push one more rep out or add 10 more pounds and not complain..

This is what separates those who "work out" and those who train.

I have made it to the garage to workout because of John. He is amazinly motivating. He is so respectful for the effort that anyone of us put forth, he just expects us to hit it hard. Thanks John and thanks OP, I will be hitting it extra hard tonight!!:D

X2. When it was touch and go for awhile right after the accident I had the best w/o's ever, did plenty of reps and a couple PB's for BH.

My two biggest inspirations in the same gym. I have further to travel. I would love to do it though. I just hit it hard from this threads fuel. Working to failure or working to BH is a new term in my workouts. There is also the BH rep - the one OP said he got from the fire of BH. Helped me twice in this workout. Seriously this man has inspired so many of us it is amazing. Many thanks to one great lifetime bodybuilder-John you rock. Good luck with The Comeback XII. You will be in my prayers.
And Bando many thanks to you as well.

Bodyhard has many fans on this site.
What impresses me is his will to overcome. He’s a stubborn SOB and just WILL not quit.
Many others would have resigned themselves to their “fate” but he extended his middle finger and continued the fight. How can anyone not respect the man?
Love him or hate him, you gotta take your hat off to the fella. Not many of his caliber around.

Tom when I finish talking to you the other day, you inspired the crap out of me to go hit the gym and hit it hard. I started a thread about you, but like always you are too humble to reciprocate. All in all my friend you have kept me on my toes, thanks buddy.

Force thanks for the props man, I have to agree with you on that last statement.
Not only for me but for everyone in this site in general, you see there are people here who do things that I find to be "different" but their efforts in doing what they do, I have to respect.
Like Inthegrass, his workouts with those freaking medicine balls drives me insane but the man does his **** and kicks fcking ass in his own way, much respect to that guy, although I hate the freaking balls

I'd never admit to that.
BH thinks I'm gay!. I think a comment like me 'thinking of him' would probably tip him over the edge, put him on a flight to England and have him 'fix' my windows, or worse.
Seriously though, good to see inspirational people doing some inspiring.
If you need any help when you're at the bar and debating whether to have that last beer, just think 'what would Stevelegh do?' then place that order Sir!
Happy to be an inspiration (of any kind......)

I agree John. Tom is a great inspiration as well and I wished he would share more of himself in here. Sometimes its very difficult to share, but sometimes you just never know...someone else reads it that is going thru the exact same thing and it helps them thru their challenges.

I have legs today. I tend to punk out on squats sometimes. I'll definitely keep that imagine in mind if I consider quitting too soon. Thats pretty amazing.

That just jacks me up reading it. I swear I can feel electricity coming out of those words - remnants & echoes no doubt of the severe emotional energy that workout must have just radiated.
I CANNOT wait for Back Day tomorrow!!!!!

After three straight hours of proofreading *ahem* "direct mail," I took a break and found this thread. I'm a bit sad that it languished at the bottom of threads- I think its worth a bump.
