ooo so if our ratios are similar what are your squat and bench? and im surprised your bench is 260. werent you only doing 225x7 when you were 190-ish.?

lol i gotta get my squat up. the squat i have in my sig i think i didnt hit anywhere near parallel. but my atg squat is 260, and recently my lifts havent been budging.

im down to 270 on bench, 260 squat, and my dl was a fail at 370 last week idk whats going the **** on.....

btw, gatorade powder or in the bottle.. I heard it's better with powder mixed with mono, or even better some high GI drink like grape juice.

thinking about taking some creatine myself! :D

got the milk (for my whey) and gatorade from cafeteria..so it was premixed from concentrate..just have 20oz of it w/ my creatine..then run to my dorm to shower, then eat again :)

thanks man..i realized i've been wasting most of my effort in the higher rep ranges of my typical pyramid lifts. today (and for a while) i'm going to try to use weights in the higher spectrum of my 1RM

Im going heavier as well, but still trying to stay in the 10 rep range. Sometime I can't go past 8.

Do it man! That's where the gains be happening! The only problem is my endurance sucks on lifts over 7 reps. :(

Since my workouts have been anything but great the past few days, Im going heavy for 2 weeks and keeping the rep range between 6 and 8 max. I did this before and it worked really well for me. Its time for a change for me as well.

very late....but, damn thats some strong pressing man!...It took me sooooo long to finally get just 1 rep of 225...it was definately my biggest milestone to date...you should be fkn psyched!

Yeah..out of the 11lbs i've gained, I would say most of it has gone to my lower back and quads. Squats and Deads FTW! :D

bodyfat is probably a bit lower than it was previously, but once i gain ~16lbs more it will most likely be the same. right now i'm on pace to have a better deadlift and squat, but bench is lagging. (I'll take that :) )

i wish i could squat 315. how low is your depth. i doubt ill get 315 by feb it just keeps lagging!.

i get deep..well past 45 degrees. i feel like my biggest problem is my lower back wants to give in, and my overall flexibility

as my 4th heavy set, I felt like I had 2-3 reps in me, but there was no spotter in sight, and with a bad shoulder it is a must.

70's was the max, but it was toward the end of a good workout. May try maxing out with 90's on incline sometime. (Not after benching)


really strong benching there! hope I can even get near soon :)

i'm most proud of my 135x20 set, because although i'm able to do 155x20, i did it with strict form and paused at the bottom of each rep. (all while dead from previous sets)

I'm starting to stretch more, as I believe it will help me with my range of motion

It all depends on how each movement feels to YOU....For me, I feel like I'm putting my knees and lower back in a bad position when I go ATG...I've found a sweet spot right at parallel...thats where my quads do most of the work..when I go lower I feel like my ass and back are doing more of the work...

I'd say for total lower body development-->ATG, for more quad specific training-->parallel (or your own personal sweet spot..)

Ill try to switch up the squats today to parallel and see how that feels. But yes, when I go ATG it feels like my ass is doing more of the work.

Im confused on the whole squatting thing. How far is one supposed to go down? I basically do 'ass to grass', where my knees cannot bend any further, then push up. I don't stop at lets say a 90 degree angle, that's why my #'s may 'seem' low. Someone please explain that to me.

Instead of doing 185x15x3 and going all the way down, should I just do 285x8x3 and only go down to <90 degree angle?

Like BW said, it's a personal thing. I'm stretching daily so I can increase my ROM. Till then I incorporate ATG front squats a lot :)

How the hell you doing those DB lat raises? For the front, are you going from rest position all the way to the top (basically 180 degrees of motion), or are you stopping at 90 degrees?

I was doing 25's and started on 30's, but that's about it. Maybe I should do them first in my shoulder workout and just go for the 30's.

Strong workout either way.

Nice military presses as well.

Do you think you being 3" taller than me has anything to do with it?

Lol very true. Sadly, before i was sick i got up 265 during a "bench off" on my back day :p (I never maxed, but had to prove myself)

Going to keep trying to work more with 225 for 3-5 than 185-205 in the 8-12 range

Back is ok... but much better once the meds kick in. The pain reliever stuff they have me on works wonders. After the first time I took it last night I was feeling so much better I was thinking about going for a jog, but I used my better judgment and stayed in.

Took 1/2 the day off today and staying home tomorrow. Doing nothing really other than relaxing. I want this thing to get 100% better.

Haha nice shoulder presses. Once you get to a certain point, it feels harder getting the weights into position than it is to press them! Looks like that's what happened on the 75's. :D

I can relate to that so well. I haven't done DB's in a long time but there is only a 10 lb. jump between my 1-RM and my 6-RM.

Going to compete in my college's bench press contest at 4:00. Plan to still do my regular back workout later on tonight.

:mad: Woke up with a migraine, couldnt eat. Slept 4 more hours and went to the cafeteria to get my much needed first meal. Second I get a plate..fire drill!

Oh well..hopefully I'll turn my day around with my lifts.

I'm still debating.

My lifetime max is 265, last set of workout. Since I've gotten mono, virus etc It has crawled up to 250 last week. (Mid workout) I was thinking anywhere between 250-260, but prob going to go 250, considering I still have a slight migraine and have only had a weight gainer shake today.

Any thoughts, tips etc?

There are weigh ins but it really isnt all too formal. More of a studious than atheletic school :D . I might sneak by with a low weight like 250.

lol you noticed the wrong pr js.

idk i think your good for 115 definately. were they all strict. man i used to be a beast with curls, especially db curls i use to do 75sx1 nao i cant do ****. i doubt i can get 50s for more than you. thats the price of giving up curling and being a more serious lifter lol!!!!!!!/
