i have been a DM fan for nearly a decade, and recently FINALLY listened to Flogging Molly and think they are amazing. Who else is out there that has a similar style to those bands? i am gonna get some Pogues, but I know there has to be more...

that what got me into looking at more stuff.
i kept hearing that Flogging Molly was good stuff, but for some reason Shipping Up To Boston in The Departed (saw it again last weekend) made me act. FM is a lot less punk than DM, but they are ****ing amazing if you ask me. I am really stuck on their newest album, Float. Specially Requiem for a Dying Song and Float. Definitely check them out, I am going to see them on stage in about 6 weeks as well.

badass way to discover em!

i forgot when i first heard em but i saw em in concert in 1998 at a local place that was really small, made for a kick ass show. That was with their first singer, and I had a hard time accepting him leaving and their sound changing some. but they won me back, and their more recent stuff gets better and better.

I saw Flogging Molly live a few years ago, i'd never heard of them before i didn't know what to expect.

Music was interesting to say the least and they put on a great show.

awesome, i am gonna go see them next month. Its encouraging that a much younger person did not bash em lol i am used to the young guys iw ork with always going WTF ARE YOU LISTENING TO!! THIS SUCKS!! then i tell em to go **** off or something.

Only thing that would make it better is my wife being NOT deployed.

Haha, i'd recommend them, they put on a much better show than the headliners (Story of the Year, Post hardcore/screamo band) and i don't think anyone expected them to, but they had the crowd cheering and wanting more.

Most younger people of this generation are very xenophobic in terms of other types of music, if it's not what 'everyone' else listens to, they'll think it's ****.

very cool though that you are open to new stuff. the guys i work with are jsut kind of inward looking i guess for hte most part, and jsut not aware of how much the world has. then again they also listen to a lot of country, and NOT good stuff...
