For quite some time I was getting my period every 10-14 days (very irritating) so my Dr. got on the pill for about a year. I was taking something similar to Seasonale (you get your period every 3 months) I decided to get off of the pill and now 3 months later, I don't have a period.

Could this be the result of dieting/exercising? My body fat is not too low so I don't think it could be. I don't want to get back on the pill or anything hormonal...but was just seeing if anyone has experienced the same thing.

What is your diet/exercise program like? I know low carbing it takes away my period, not saying it happens for everyone, it's just something that I experience, maybe it is the same for you?

diet: 1800-2100 cals depending on my level of activity
high protein, moderate carb, low fat
My protein sources are usu. tuna, chicken breast, turkey, salmon, or greek yogurt
carbs: sweet potato, steel cut oats, brown rice, quinoa
fats: avocado, olive oil, almond butter, etc.

exercise: cardio 5-6 days a week (sprinting/spin/jogging/elliptical)

weight train 3 days a week

I don't think I'm exercising too much and it doesn't seem like it's the carbs...I'm not sure what it is

It could just be an adjustment from coming off the meds. Check with your doc. He/she may say to wait another cycle or two.

You need a different doc then. One should be able to explain both to you.

When I went off the pill, I didn't have my period for 5 months. It can really screw up your natural cycle. Now even almost 2 years later, it isn't "regular." Some months its 18 days others can be 31 days. I recently cut out dairy from my diet in an attempt to help regulate myself. Most milk comes from pregnant cows (about 80% from what I've read) and by consuming dairy, you're consuming a large amount of hormones from the pregnant cow. This can mess with your own hormones/cycle. There is no set answer, but usually a combination of things. At one point last summer, I had gotten down to about 12% body fat and I didn't have a period for awhile.
